Effects of Exotic Particle Designate 'Red Matter' on Extra-Dimensional Rifts
Author: Doctor Vaedros Isunn

Red Matter, when excited, creates a unique singularity that, unlike many similar phenomena, only lasts as long as there is matter to feed it (see: Hobus Supernova). Its properties are unique to it out of any known substance. While the substance's unique gravimetric properties would appear to make it ideal for the process of forcing Fluidic Rifts shut, such an action is not without possible side effects.

If the substance is detonated within Fluid Space, the effects would be catastrophic. Because Fluid Space has no void, a singularity within Fluidic Space would expand to an infinite degree, or at least until there was nothing left within the fluidic dimension. Unfortunately, it has become clear that Undine are not the only sentient life forms within Fluidic Space (See: Gekli, Hylasa). As a result, this author cannot recommend the use of Red-Matter to combat the Undine, even as a so-called 'Nuclear Option' or as a last resort. The cost is simply too high.

[The paper goes on for another several pages, detailing the possible short and long-term consequences of such an action.]
