Greetings, officers of Task Force Argo.

I am Commander Cenar, first officer of the U.S.S. Felczer and her commanding officer for the duration of this assignment. My orders are to brief you on the operational parameters of the mission that Task Force Omega has outlined for you.

It should be noted, first and foremost, that we here in Battle Group Omega have what should be an obvious interest in your circumstances and that of the Pariah System. Our intelligence teams have been working in conjunction with officers of your sciences department to consolidate and analyze sensor data gathered from all the encounters with the Borg thus far.

Their efforts have yielded the discovery of what can only be a Borg transwarp conduit, an exit point of their wider network and we have undertaken a couple scouting passes to confirm these findings. Omega has been granted permission to launch a full-out assault to destroy the gate and render it completely in-operational.

That is where you come in. We will require five of your vessels to provide the necessary backup and, eventually, the extra firepower that is required to destroy a structure as large as the conduit. For the most part, we expect the operation to be fairly straightforward. While the Borg behavior in Pariah encounters has been anomalous, to be sure, we will be bringing superior forces in terms of both numbers and dedicated offensive strength.

That brings us to the second half of this operation, which should be considered optional and only attempted if Argo has the resources to spare. As mentioned previously, the Borg behavior in Pariah IS anomalous and now that we've located a stational facility of theirs, it seems like a wasted opportunity if we don't at least attempt to investigate it, as it could have larger implications for the state of the Collective as a whole.

Therefore, we have approvals from Command to send an away team to the conduit interior itself, to determine if any data can be salvaged from the Borg's computer systems. Both this operation and the exterior assault will be launched simultaneously, so the interior group must adhere to a strict timeframe. Once they are safely off the conduit, the signal can be given to the assaulting task force to proceed with destroying the gate. If Argo does not have a vessel to spare for the approach, the Felczer can oblige.

I believe that is sufficient information for now. The Felczer will be arriving shortly at DS13 so we can begin final preparations on both operations.

We look forward to cooperating with you. Cenar out.

Spoiler: TLDRShow

1. One group of 5 minimum to private queue Infected: The Conduit (Elite).
2. One group (or possibly more) to undergo side ground mission to collect Borg system data.
3. When ground mission has been completed, away team may signal for destruction of conduit.

Its unlikely that ill make this, timezones are evil >.<
Wont make it, to early for me.
I should actually be able to attend this.
Alpha is usually a bad time for me, but I'd really like to be there for this -- so I'll do my best. :)

Bump. This event is tomorrow, all. Thread has been updated with briefing information.
I'd love to make this. Since the space and ground portions are simultaneous, are we expecting to run it with different toons, or just assuming that the away teams went down when the battle starts? I'll probably bring Jerin Teral since it might not be the best idea to bring Captain-level toons for the ground portion.
Will be there. :d
Alpha is 7 PM Central right? I'd like to go but in all likelihood I'll be working until 8-ish Central and by the time I get home, eat dinner, etc and get on I'll probably be too late.

Assuming we have the numbers, I'm planning to split the group in two, priority goes towards filling the STF group, then leftovers will be on assigned away team.

This would be a case of not everyone gets to do everything. You're welcome to run the Away mission on your own time if you wish, of course, just OOCly.
