AAR: Terix Blockade Incident

TO 38th Command
SUBJ Terix Blockade Incident
STRDT 92293.1

As I am writing this report, I am on board the Sagan as it is being towed back to Deep Space Thirteen. About half an hour ago, it was severely damaged by attack from several Romulan warbirds, under the orders of the Terix government. Prior to that, I ordered my vessel to break blockade formation, disregarding direct orders, to interfere with the conflict occurring on the planet. I take full responsibility for these actions; you will find the names of the crewmembers aboard who chose to submit their disapproval of my violation in my log.

At approximately 21:00 hours today, the starships in the blockade around the Terix system received a transmission from an ambassador of the Mirhassa colony. After a conversation with Captain Depoe, it became apparent that the Mirhassa colony was supplying the Terix government with the means to bomb their enemies on the planet. Shortly after this information came to light, bombing operations begun.

At this moment, myself and two other captains of the blockade opened comms to discuss the situation. After a brief exchange, which can be retrieved from the Sagan's logs, I ordered my ship to break formation and intercept the Mirhassan bombers. I made challenge, warning the ships away.

It was at this point when ten Ha'nom class warbirds decloaked off of our stern and opened fire. Initially we took only some minor damage to the shields, and were able to evade them. A few moments later, the Mirhassan bombers cloaked and ceased their attack. After that, four of the Ha'nom warbirds, which have been identified as Terix-aligned, closed in on my ship and severely disabled her.

Now that you have the facts of my involvement, allow me to provide reason for my actions.

The Starfleet blockade around the Terix system was put in place in order to prevent outside interference from other governments in what was deemed an internal affair. The Mirhassa colony, which is indeed a government outside of Terix jurisdiction, provided support to one side of the Terix conflict. My actions were intended to stop them from continuing in this regard. I would also like it noted that not a single offensive action from the Sagan was taken against Terix's Ha'nom warbirds.

My only regrets are that I was not able to prevent the loss of life that the bombings started, and that these actions cost the lives of Starfleet officers.
