RE: After Action Report: Terix System Incident, Stardate 92293

Sirs, on the aforementioned Stardate, at about 20:30 hours station time, a Romulan T'Varo Bird of Prey under the command of Galae'Riov Marilcian t'Sarnev, fleet commander of the Mirhassan Defense Ministry's Forward Mitigation Task Force decloaked and hailed the fleet, requestion a holographic link up. Once such a link was establshed, she revealed that a small task force under her command was already in the Terix system and had become trapped upon the arrival of the task force, and subsequent establishment of the blockade and tachyon detection grid.

The Galae'Riov then stated that she wished to try to establish negotiations between the separatist movement associated with ambassador Taev and the Proper Government of Terix. However, our conversation was interrupted by the movement known as "Free Terix" launching an attack on the Terix capitol.

The Terix fleet commander, who had earlier almost caused an incident with the Romulan Star Empire by firing on a ship requesting contact with our own fleet, while remaining on the inside of the blockade, requested the Galae'Riov assist Terix by bombarding settlements on the surface supposedly belonging to "Free Terix" and confirmed by Starfleet Intelligence to be housing civilians. The Galae'Riov assented before attempting continue our discussion, where i expressed my disapproval at her actions.

Before I could get further orders from DS13 however, 3 starships, the USS Sagan, the USS Mystic, and the USS Paladin all broke formation and moved to intervene. All orders to return were ignored. The blockade was hastily reshuffled to fill any gaps caused in the grid.

While the Mirhassan ships broke off rather than engage the Starfleet vessels, 10 Ha'Nom class ships of Terix registry decloaked and engaged the rouge Starfleet vessels. The Sagan and Paladin were crippled and the Mystic was destroyed, its escape pods recovered by the Terix ships.

At this the USS Atlantis broke formation and attempted to render aid to the damaged ships, and I was about to break formation myself to assist when orders were received from 38th Fleet command to render assistance anyway, so I had the Leyte and 3 other ships break formation to RV with the Atlantis and provide escort back to our lines, with the rest of the fleet preparing to reinforce and for a possible Terix reprisal.

While the Terix ships at first fired on the Atlantis and caused damage to its shields, the Galae'Riove was able to convince the Terix commander to stand down, which she did before the Leyte and it's detachment was forced to engage. The 7 ships returned to the safety of the blockade without further incident. However, the Terix warbirds, instead of recloaking, instead formed up over the planet and destroyed the remaining settlements believed to be controlled by "Free Terix." Estimated casualty reports will be included in a file attached to this log, along with casualty rates of all Starfleet ships involved in today's incident.

As the Sagan and Paladin were prepared for warp tow back to DS13, an unshielded Terix warbird decloked in front of the Leyte. Accepting this as a gesture of non agression, I had our shields kept down as well and opened hailing frequencies. The Warbird's commander informed us then that all of the Mystic's surviving crew, save Captain Savage were to be returned to us at once, with the Captain being held for questioning, something I immediately protested.

Thankfully, the Galae'Riov intervened and implored Terix to not escalate things further, which caused them to acquiesce and return Captain Savage as well. After he was cleared by my CMO, I had him briefly spend time in the Leyte's brig before having him confined to quarters on the Atlantis, where the rest of the Mystic's crew was beamed to.

The incident now over, I had the blockade and grid reestablished with the remaining ships and continued to remain vigilant until new orders were received.

Two addendums: First, I'd like to submit to commendation the Commander of the Atlantis for acting quickly in order to provide aid to multiple Federation starships in distress.

Second, before ending the comm link, the Galae'Riov expressed both regret and the express hope that despite this negotiations between Ambassador Taev's people and the Proper Government. She hoped to accomplish this while using a Federation starship as neutral ground for such meetings and that I submit her idea as soon as I could, which i am doing here. She is hoping for contact on the matter as soon as it is physically possible, considering the- hectic- nature of the current situation.

((I am only going to add that Mari's ship was never seen and did not decloak. She transmitted from under cloak the whole time. This would be a minor thing, but it was also never stated she is in a T'varo (she in fact, was not, I never described her ship for reasons of my own). That inconsistency aside, it is a minor quibble, and I am glad you got all the important details of the event here, so thanks DePoe!))
