BIOGRAPHICAL HIGHLIGHTS
Captain Alistair Nimitz is one of the few Romulans in service of Starfleet to rise to the rank of Captain. In his years of service Captain Nimitz has proven himself and his loyalty to the Federation countless times over and over, he is a highly decorated Starfleet Captain in service, having been awarded the Sliver Star, Legion of Honor, and in addition the Bronze Star on four occasions in relation to combat operations.
Graduating from Starfleet academy with high marks in both Security and tactical skills, he was assigned to Federation Security Headquarters in Washington D.C. with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. His boosted rank was granted in recognition of his prior service in the Star Empire Imperial Navy.
Before officially reporting to duty, Lieutenant R'lmus was granted permission to legally change his name from R'lmus ch'Rhian to Alistair Harrington Nimitz. Lieutenant Nimitz quickly earned himself on the fast track as a raising star as an Agent for Fed-Sec. Taking down several drug cartels operating inside the Federation.
However his career nearly came down in flaming wreckage when the Klingon War began, Lieutenant Commander Nimitz was assigned to investigate an Admiral named Marcus Qi. During the investigation, Nimitz's addiction to stimulants was brought to light, which caused him to be demoted and removed from the task force, with a black mark on his file, Lieutenant Nimitz would spent the next two years on the penal colony of New Switzerland assigned as a correctional officer.
After two years Nimitz was reassigned back to Federation Security when an old cold case of his resurfaced. After being returned to his duties, he reopened the investigation into Admiral Qi and found evidence linking the admiral to war crimes. After arresting the Admiral, Nimitz was promoted back to Lieutenant Commander and his black mark was removed from record.
Nimitz remained with Federation Security for several more years, taking part in the take down of a Terra Prime terrorist cell that seized control of a Mars dome City, to aiding recovery efforts on Bajor following the 2,800 incident. In late 2412, he put in a request to transfer to Starbase Security onboard Starbase 381. After three months, he was transferred back to Earth and granted the provisional rank of Commander to teach marksmanship on the M.A.C.O. West Point campus.
Six months later, Nimitz was returned to his normal rank of Lieutenant Commander and was transferred to Starbase Security on Deep Space 515 in the Zenas Expanse. Shortly after his assignment to the starbase an investigation into the True Way went sideways and resulted in his demotion to Lieutenant. Soon after his demotion, Lieutenant Nimitz accepted his first ship posting as Chief Tactical Officer and Head of Security onboard the U.S.S. Odin (Luna class).
Four months after his assignment to the Odin, Lieutenant Nimitz was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and assumed the duties of Second Officer onboard the Odin. Two months later, Lieutenant Commander Nimitz was promoted to First Officer of the Odin.
Six months into his tenure as First Officer, Lieutenant Commander Nimitz took and passed his command test with flying colors, the Zenas Commanding Officer remarked upon his passing 'Commander Nimitz found a way to have his cake and eat it too with his unique solution.'. The passing of the test including a promotion to the rank of Commander. One month following his promotion to Commander, the Iconian War broke out.
Upon the conclusion of the Iconian War, Commander Nimitz was given command of the USS Star Knight, an Aventine class. Six months after he assumed command, he was promoted to the rank of Captain. That achievement was short lived as the promotion came with reassignment orders to relinquish his command and transfer to Deep Space 515 to serve as First Officer. A month later he was promoted to Commanding Officer of the starbase.
His tenure was short lived as he was only commander for two weeks until he received an offer to take command of the USS Hyperion (Modified Hestia class) following the announcement of the Cardassian Union deciding to not renew the loan agreement on Deep Space 515.
After accepting command of the Hyperion, Captain Nimitz was assigned to the 38th Fleet. Upon his arrival, the Hyperion under took a number of anti-piracy missions and patrols in haste. In response to the unexpected combat experience gained, Starfleet pulled the Hyperion from the NX line and recalled her for refits to normal service. Captain Nimitz was granted command of the newly launched Sutherland class, the USS Rutledge.
Captain Nimitz's command of the Rutledge was over all a success at first, however following a mission to the Shahr colony and complaints filed by residences, Starfleet began to have second thoughts about his assignment, and true enough Captain Nimitz was eventually removed and put in command of the much smaller and older Exeter class vessel USS Akagi.
Captain Nimitz's reassignment was a message intended to show he was being swept aside and not expected to further his career. Instead Captain Nimitz took his new mission in stride, quickly earning the Akagi a reputation among pirates as a ship to not be crossed. When the Tzenkethi Conflict broke out, the Akagi was the only vessel in the 38th fleet to serve in every engagement of the war. Captain Nimitz was awarded the sliver star during battle when the Akagi personally took down five mobile battlestations in one engagement.
Even after Captain Nimitz was supposed to have been beaten down more with a third demotion in his career, his command of the Akagi during the Hur'q crisis quickly earned him his promotion back to Captain thanks to his tactical skills that lead to planning and carrying out the defenses of both Betazed and Trill from three Hur'q hive fleets. Both engagements resulted in the total loss of the Hur'q hives, and zero casualties for the Federation.
After his promotion back to Captain, the Akagi was heavily damaged in battle with the Borg, but once again, Captain Nimitz's tactical skills resulted in no losses of his own crew. Following the battle, Captain Nimitz was entrusted with command of the USS Pegasus, a Yamato class. The Pegasus played a key role in preventing a newly contacted civilization known as the Protectorate of Cuervo Verde of Raven's Star from being annexed by the Tholians, Captain Nimitz was among those awarded the Star of Raven for his actions.
