On Stardate 92845.3 officers from the 38th fleet accompanied Captain Sorel of the 7th fleet and 100 Dominion pods through the wormhole at DS9 on a diplomatic mission to return them to the Dominion.
Captain Sorel gave us an initial brief aboard DS9 before we joined him on the U.S.S. Fletcher and made way on the solo vessel through the wormhole into Dominion Space.
Once through the wormhole the Fletcher navigated to pre-determined coordinates for the meet. We arrived at the coordinates first and waited until the dominion ship arrived. When it finally did it went nose-to-nose with the Fletcher.
We opened the channel and found ourselves speaking to Keton, backed by a jem'hadar. Captain Trellain De Drowvani on the bridge spoke under her breath regarding Keth. I've already received a formal complaint and it will be handled.
The Diplomacy was handled gently bounced between Captain Freeman and myself as needed. We were prepared to initiate transfer of the pods to the dominion vessel when another damaged vessel showed up and hailed the Fletcher.
A man who's name I did not get pleaded for us to not hand over the pods to the dominion, instead he requested we destroy them or give them to him. Ultimately the decision was made to not jeopardize the treaty we currently held with the dominion. I told the unknown vessel not to disrupt the mission and to depart the system with the hope that they would be spared. As soon as they cleared the area the dominion ship open fire destroying and killing all personnel on the ship.
The mindset on the ship completely changed after that point, myself included. The transfer was initiated and completed and Keton asked us about Keth. Several officers spoke out of turn and I settled with giving him the information I knew about Keth 6. This settled Keton and he escorted us back to the wormhole.
