On stardate 92905.6 the U.S.S. Sagan was tasked to bring a delegation of officers to New Circini to give the 38th Fleet's response to the governor's proposition. Prior to leaving the station we were briefed by Commander North who instructed us on the situation and let us know to look for 'mercurium' in the colonies marketplace for DS13's medical department.
Upon arriving in the system the Sagan hailed the governor's office and was informed that the governor was not yet ready to meet with us. We used this opportunity to perform our secondary task and search the market place for the mercurium. In this time Captain Varley was requested back on the Sagan to perform captain duties and I assumed command on the ground.
Commanders Esca, Zaldo and Lieutenant Steele were able to locate a medical supply shop and the mercurium we needed. I was requested to the storefront to sign off on the transfer of several cannisters to the Sagan and did so. As I was signing, the other three officers were alerted to a scream from a nearby exotic animal vendor. They left the chemical company and I followed after business there had been concluded.
Upon arriving, I found Lieutenant Steele and Commander Esca with an andorian and his small child who had been bit by one of the animals which was later identified as a Galikan pup. Luckily Lieutenant Commander Zaldo has enough medical training to have treated the boy. I requested that the Sagan searches for the animal on a larger scale while Lieutenant Steele and I searched using a tricorder on the ground.
Lieutenant Steele and I were able to find the creature devouring a squirrel at the base of a tree. I retrieved a transporter tag and between Lieutenant Steele and I, we were able to tag the creature and myself for transporting to a detention cell for temporary holding.
I was then given the word that the governor was prepared. Zaldo, Steele and I met with the governor to give the news and conditions. She was very understanding and agreeable to the situation and still wants to push forward the deal. She spoke of having her office arrange the agreement and sending it to be signed.
