Thanks to information provided by the New Circini Port Authority we tracked down a supply ship matching the warp signature of a vessel believed connected to the incident at the Festival. The ship was tracked moving away from the Echomet border, upon detecting the Victory and our hailing them the ship broke for a nearby asteroid debris field. We overtook the vessel just before they could enter.
Interviewing the ship's 'Captain', one Brir Kritt, I've discovered this ship is a relay ship. Picking up cargo at one location and taking it to a second. Typically that is when she would receive payment. Amid the cargo hold were several crates of various contraband, confirming the information she'd given about being a delivery vessel. One container of interest was climate controlled to freeze, and contained eight eggs, approximately 15 centimeters long 13 centimeters wide and weighing 1.4 kilograms. The container was marked for delivery to a ship in orbit around New Circini, and labeled 'Great Ir Eggs'. Based on recent reports this cargo was confiscated immediately.
Further interviewing of Ms Kritt was at first difficult, but after implying she could be tried for taking an active part in the destruction of a sentient species, information became more readily available. Ms Kritt provided details of how she was contacted, and what drop locations were buing used to smuggle goods in and out of Echomet territory. I have attached all relevant information to this report. Like any good smuggler, Ms Kritt has kept a solid tally of what she moves for who, as insurance for just such situations.
After some serious consideration, I allowed Ms Kritt and her ship, 'Comet's tail' to continue on their way. The eggs are currently in storage in the Victory's Science lab and upon return to DS 13 will be turned over there.
