Biographical Information
Winter was born in a Human colony out in deep space, where she was as happy as she knew, but that all changed when the Borg attacked her home when she was visiting post-graduation. Seemingly at random, they attacked the colony the entirety of the settlement was assimilated before they left, in the process, they assimilated Winter's parents and siblings in front of her as she was the last to be assimilated.
She does not speak of her time as a drone or before her assimilation very often as she either remembers too much of one and not enough of another. But either way, it has left her with emotional and mental scars that counsellors have attempted to help with but are still there but do not affect her ability to operate in the field.
She lived the next 20 years of her life as drone 'Five of Eight' before she was liberated in an attack on the cube she was on. Upon this, she was sent to Earth where during and after counselling she reentered active service with Starfleet as a science officer.
Through the academy, she quickly proved her aptitude for the sciences and her ability to command. Once she graduated, she served aboard many ships as she went through the ranks, as she fought as an officer of Starfleet on almost every front and against nearly every opponent from her graduation.
She was promoted to captain and given command of the USS Nightingale shortly before the Iconian War.
She recently (As of 27JAN21417) decided to use Five of Eight as her name entirely.
