BIOGRAPHICAL HIGHLIGHTS

Lara grew up in Bajor in a loving and caring young family. The eldest of four, Lara dreamed of following her mother’s footsteps to the stars; Lara’s mother, a Federation Ambassador, often went on trips away and always brought back stories and treasures from her adventures. When she could, Lara would join her mother on trips which only added to her longing to travel into the final frontier. She was very hands on and had an interest in what made things move, and how these could be controlled. Academically, Lara was a dedicated student, although not the best. Though she was an avid reader, she had some trouble in the classroom but her enthusiasm and hard work paid off when she was accepted into the academy.
It was in the academy when she really stepped up. Excelling at her flight control classes, she graduated top of her class when it came to navigation and control. However, she did not do nearly as well in her other classes and although she passed, she wasn’t outstanding, her only other noteworthy achievements were in warp theory and communications. This did not dent her ambitions at all. She was offered a place on the USS Lexington as helmswoman and she happily took it.

Though her time in Starfleet hasn't been plain sailing, she is a hard worker and always aims to better herself. A massive transformation in her career came when Captain Omar offered her fighter pilot training, something she has excelled at. Despite this, she was close to resigning her commission following the abuse she sustained at the hands of Crewman Jack Adonis when they were in captivity following the Battle of DS13, but after talking to Captains Omar and Bishop, and after some time back at home with her family, she decided against it.

Instead, Captain Bishop reached out to his long-time friend Captain Coby Morton of the USS October, and asked him if he was able to take the young Ensign on. Captain Morton accepted, and after a surprise promotion, following Captain Omar's recommendation, Lara began a new chapter in her life. Following a few months of service, Lara transferred to the USS Pegasus under Captain Alistair Nimitz, to add to her skills as a ship and fighter pilot.
