LOCATION: Uncharted space, Alpha 7190 Sector

MISSION: Respond to distress call from the USS Endeavour

OUTCOME: Partially successful operation, USS Endeavour, its crew and the away team rescued, Captain Bishop taken hostage

KEY PERSONNEL:
CAPT. A. Nimitz
CMDR. C. Jarnefelt
CMDR. Z. Zh’Zhavis
LTCOL. J. Mason
MAJ. E. Sharpe
CDT. C. Skye.

NARRATIVE: Following the departure of the away team to the surface of the planet Endeavour was orbiting I began to look into the situation that the ship had found itself in, it was trapped in a power draining field that prevented it from leaving under its own power, this field also appeared to act as a tractor beam of sorts, when I began rescue attempts I found it impossible to move the ship just under the power of the Akagi's own tractor beams.

After some deliberation with Akagi's science officer we attempted to supply the Endeavour with power, although this was only minimally successful we were able to provide enough power to allow comms on the Endeavour to come back online. After a short communication with the crew they were successfully transported aboard the Akagi where both medical and security teams were present to meet them. (Security teams were sent on the off chance that this was an elaborate trap, which proved to not be the case.) It was at this point I was informed by a member of the Endeavour's crew that Captain Bishop had been taken as a hostage and transported down to the planet's surface, after briefing Captain Nimitz of this, and updating him of the situation in orbit, I turned my attention to freeing the ship itself.

The field the ship had found itself in proved to be a very tricky opponent to best; first preventing the use of tractor beams as mentioned above, and then stopping us from extending the Akagi's shield around Endeavour to prevent the power drain and allowing the Ship to move freely. On recommendation from the science officer we launched an unmanned shuttle into the draining field, quickly followed by a second. While this was successful in diminishing some of the drain on the Endeavour it was not a noticeable enough amount to be useful, the shuttles were regathered thanks to their far smaller frame. After a few more minutes of debating we attempted to reverse the feedback of the power drain to far greater success, allowing us to move Endeavour from the draining field and into safety, it was at this time I was informed that the base in which the away team had beamed down to was, for lack of a better term, dissapearing.

I quickly notified all members of the away team to the predicament, informing them that I intended to perform an emergency beam out and was met with a reply that Cadet Skye was badly injured and required immediate medical attention, with the attending doctor requiring a few minutes to stabilize her for transport. I asked the crew to keep an eye on the status of the base and to beam them out the moment it became too risky, or on my command, whichever happened first.

After a few tense minutes of waiting I was contacted by Captain Nimitz informing me that Captain Bishop had once again been transported away to an unknown destination, at the same time a ship was detected uncloaking and heading for the edge of the system, presumable with the Captain aboard. I ordered the crew to follow the ship but was met by the news that the away team had almost no time left before the entire base in which they were situated disappeared entirely. It was at this point I ordered us back to the planet to rescue the away team, thus forsaking a chance to rescue the Captain before the unknown ship warped away.

I ordered the crew to scan the warp signature of the vessel and to try and track it's movement as it exited the system, then beamed the away team aboard before the base finally disappeared. Cadet Skye and Doctor Jarnefelt were beamed directly to sickbay where treatment was begun immediately. When Captain Nimitz returned to the bridge with the rest of the away team I filled them in on the events and returned command of the Akagi back to her Captain.

Unfortunately the unknown vessel exited the system so quickly that we were unable to get a lock on it's destination and ended up with a list compromising half a dozen systems that could be a possible destination. The type of vessel was also unable to be determined for the same reasons, but given it possessed a cloak that eluded the Akagi's sensors I believe it is safe to assume it is a ship on par with it.

RECOMMENDATION: Rescue of Captain Bishop should be a priority. I recommend narrowing down the search area starting with systems that the abducting ship was possibly heading to. Given I was unable to rescue a Starfleet Captain I am also entirely willing to comply with any and all reprimands deemed necessary for my actions

OOC: This is only an AAR for the space portion of the event, after the away team has beamed down. If I've missed your character or actions please let me know! This is my first AAR for the fleet so I apologise for any sloppiness in the writing style.

MISSION: Rescue of the USS Endeavour

OUTCOME: USS Endeavour successfully rescued, Captain Bishop remains MIA.

NARRATIVE: The USS Akagi was responding to a distress call from the USS Endeavour, stating that their captain had been taken hostage. Upon arriving the Akagi discovered the Endeavour floating almost dead in space unable to respond to our hails.

Sensors showed that there was an area that deflecting our sensors, theorizing that it was the source of the trouble for the Endeavour. Leading an away team consisting of myself, two MACOs, LTCOL Mason, and MAJ Sharpe, a Doctor, CMDR Jarnefelt, and CDT Skye, we at the time had no expectation of imminent danger upon beaming in.

After landing, we materialized on some kind of base complex, with a satellite dish that was aimed at the Endeavour. We soon came under fire from a nearby patrol of guards after a failed attempt to gather more intel about the guards patrolling the base. Myself and MAJ Sharpe took injuries, as for the guards, even with our weapons on stun as we later found out, all dissolved in some kind of pile of goo.

As we recovered from the attack, a comm call from the Akagi saying that they had made contact with the Endeavour, and relayed that Captain Bishop was being held hostage on the planet's surface. At the time, assuming that Captain Bishop was being the most heavy guarded on the complex, I sent Major Sharpe and Cadet Skye to disable the satellite.

Myself, LTCOL Mason, and Doctor Jarnefelt went looking for Captain Bishop, rigging up a medical tricorder to help detect his life signs due to interference with our normal equipment from the satellite. After clearing out a room of the guards with a flash bang, we heard a comm call for a doctor from the Major, who reported the cadet had been injured. Doctor Jarnefelt took off immediately as the Colonel and I kept moving down the base looking for Captain Bishop. When we reached him, he was surrounded by guards, before we could dispatch them all, one of the guards stuck something on the Captain's arm and he was beamed up. Soon after the away team was beamed up as well to the Akagi on account of the base starting to phase out of existence.

RECOMMENDATION: Tracking down Captain Bishop and rescuing him ASAP.
