NARRATIVE: While working in Ops onboard Deep Space Nine, Captain Quint and myself were alerted about an incoming Hur'q attack fleet on Betazed. Thanks to the new sensor upgrades to Deep Space Nine we had several hours of advance notice, it allowed us to put together a defense plan in place for intercept the Hur'q Hive Fleets before they reached the planet. the Hur'q forces were amount to almost four times the size of the fleet that attacked Defara. The Hur'q Forces were split into two fleets, each lead by an unknown Hur'q Captial ship. These two ships were designated Alpha and Beta.

Leading Team Alpha to intercept the first Hur'q fleet with in an asteroid field on the edge of the Betazed system, the Hur'q forces put up a fight to protect Flagship Alpha. After several devastating hits from high yield torpedoes at close range, Flagship Alpha was destroyed and the Hur'q forces quickly retreated from battle in a disorganized manner. In the aftermath of the battle the Akagi and the Attar collected samples from the remains of target Alpha for further studies into its shell armor. Captain Cynis has loaned a science team to aid in the studies.

RECOMMENDATION: Hur'q forces have gone to ground much like they did after their defeat at Defara, I recommend we pull back Starfleet vessels in the Alpha Quadrant and post them closer to Federation Member worlds, as well as distribute the DS9 sensor upgrades to all Starbases in the quadrant to give a wider net to monitor for Hur'q movement.
