NARRATIVE: On 94538.7 Early Warning Sensors detected Hur'q singlas bound for Betazed. These forces consisted of two large groups, each with a large unknown vessel at the center of the formation. Identifying these as Hive ships they were designated the primary targets of out counter strike. Two Task Groups were formed to engage these separate targets, designated Alpha and Beta. I was in Command of the Beta Group. Shortly after we intercepted the Hur'q Swarm in an asteroid belt they had stopped in. The reason was unknown but they appeared to be feeding. Engagement of Hur'q forces commenced, and while the 'Hive' ships seemed to be resistant to weapons fire it did eventually give way in certain areas. Focussed fire soon destroyed the ship. No craft reported significant damages or injuries. After a sweep of the systems and no active Hur'q were found we collected various biological remains form the new ship class and secured them for study. EOR
RECOMMENDATION: Follow up with Science department on the recovered materials form the Hur'q ships, also agree with wider dispertial of Early Warning Net.
