LOCATION: Ba'aja Sector
MISSION: N/A
OUTCOME: Stolen derelict Warbird destroyed, those aboard responsible for destroying Federation property apprehended.

KEY PERSONNEL:
CAPT Ailes, Beylara
LCDR Galanodel, Elora
LT Visynth, Rizar
LT Collins, Edward
ENS Niraj, Alexandria

NARRATIVE: On Stardate 94684.1, I received an encrypted message from a Rihannsu officer, requesting our assistance, as the Ockham was the closest ship available. After changing course, the Ockham made it to the Ba'aja sector in order to search for this reportedly stolen ship.

The information we were given was that the ship in question was a derelict, stolen from a junkyard within the remnants of the Star Empire. However, those aboard managed to get it up and running again (obviously), and were using it to destroy Federation assets--mostly probes and other unmanned scientific observational equipment--within the sector.

We deployed a series of probes to set up a tachyon grid of our own to detect cloaked ships, while Ensign Niraj scanned old Imperial frequencies, searching for ones we'd broken already. The combined efforts revealed a ship watching our movements not far away. Their external communications revealed that they intended to try and stop us from doing some unnamed action.

We fired a warning shot, and they opened fire. The battle was brief, but intense. The Ockham will require some repairs before resuming its exploratory mission. Unfortunately, a lucky shot their reactor set of a chain reaction which spawned an overload and resultant implosion. We were able to beam 42 survivors off the Warbird before it was destroyed. Some had wounds too severe from either the battle or the overload to survive the experience.

Medical now has the remaining survivors, or they are in the brig if they are walking wounded. They will be questioned and a second report will be attached once that has been completed. Not all of the saboteurs are Rihannsu, they come from a variety of species, although the majority are.

RECOMMENDATION: Report to the Republic that the saboteurs were apprehended and put out of commission. Further information should be restricted depending on what the questioning provides.

OOC: Another report will be attached after the interrogation takes place.

This was a U.S.S. William Ockham mission. Thank you to all of those who attended and if I made any mistakes in my report, that is entirely on me and I'd be happy to correct them if you let me know.

LOCATION: U.S.S. William Ockham, docked at Deep Space 13
MISSION: In relation to capture of saboteurs
OUTCOME: Interviewed commander of stolen Romulan Warbird and obtained pertinent information regarding attacks.

KEY PERSONNEL:
CAPT Ailes, Beylara
LCDR deCapulet, Viamonta
LT Collins, Edward

NARRATIVE: The commander of the stolen Romulan warbird was brought to the conference room under guard. Captain Ailes and Lieutenant Collins were present at first, and later joined by Doctor deCapulet.

Over the course of the interview, he made multiple attempts to dodge responsibility, turn the officers against each other, or otherwise derail the conversation. He used emotional tools to attempt to evoke sympathy or anger as necessary.

However, he did reveal that he did not act independently, and that he was given orders to disrupt Federation work in the area. The superior who ordered him he could not or would not identify, claiming only to know this person as a frequency, which would have been changed the moment of his capture.

Towards the end of the interview, he became more stubbornly resistant, but agreed to consider a deal with JAG to mitigate the criminal charges he would face in exchange for information. It was difficult to sense how much of it was a stall for time and how much was genuine desire to escape potential ramifications of being captured (whether by us or his mysterious superior), but it might be possible to sense whether or not he's telling the entire truth when he speaks with someone in the future, if we can get him to agree to open up more.

It is a personal theory, discussed with my officers, that the intent was to foster dissent between the Republic and the Federation, or perhaps sow dissent between the Star Empire and the Federation, that is, however, less likely. I am not as familiar with the intricacies of Rihannsu politics as I might like to be, so perhaps an expert is needed.

Also, it must be considered that it might be an outside force wishing to disrupt relations between ourselves and the Rihannsu entirely. Either way, it would be ideal to obtain more information.

RECOMMENDATION: I leave it up to command to determine whether or not it is suitable to bring JAG into this. I would ordinarily not be willing to offer such a person a deal, however, they damaged only property until they fought the U.S.S. William Ockham. It might be worth considering an offer to discover, if possible, who he reported to.

OOC: This was a short short Ockham event. Thanks for everyone who attended! If I misrepresented your character, please let me know so I can correct!

Jolan Tru,

I received your forward of the report of the USS William Ockham's capture of a mixed crew of Romulan and alien saboteurs. I have spoken with Captain Beylara Ailies and she has agreed to keep me informed in regards to the Romulan saboteurs. Mol Rihan has no current interest in the Alien Saboteurs.
