OUTCOME: New intelligence about Species 2492 has been acquired and Starfleet's database has been updated. Points of interest for general distribution are noted below.

NARRATIVE: The civilization previously referred to as "Species 2492" is now known to be the "The Confederacy of Azed". This civilization is comprised of six individual species, and at least as many star systems. The Starfleet datafile on the Confederacy is now up to date with the most recent intelligence, and will be kept current as new information is uncovered.
38th Fleet Command held a planning session with a number of officers in attendance to discuss this new information, the political situation, and possible future courses of action. Final recommendations the group made to Command are listed below.
• Organize a return mission to Diaderi in search of additional information.
• Provide a show of force via preemptive strike to curtail aggression.
• Attempt diplomatic contact with a single Confederacy species deemed likely to be receptive.
RECOMMENDATION: Fleet command intends to review the recommendations and will select a course of action shortly.
