LOCATION: Queldem F-219 Surplus Depot

MISSION: Investigate Junayd presence, make contact, capture, and/or eliminate as necessary

OUTCOME: Derelict Junayd vessel located with no lifesigns, collected and towed back to secure area in K-7 vicinity

KEY PERSONNEL:
CAPT T. Kawamori
CAPT I. Lyn
CAPT K. Se'lai
CMDR A. Nimitz
CMDR M. Sh'sonora
LTJG M. Finney
COL E. tr'Nanclus

NARRATIVE: The Task Force led my myself was sent to the Queldem F-219 Surplus Depot to check on reports provided by Col. tr'Nanclus via contacts he had that a ship matching the descriptions of Junayd ships at the battle of DS13 was there. Further backed up by intel from the KDF we went to investigate with the hope of making contact if they were active, or to pacify a threat at worst.

Arriving there, the staff at the facility betrayed their somewhat beleaguered status and were only just helpful enough to allow us access to look for the ship, but not where in the area it was. After some searching using a variety of methods we eventually got them to point us in the right direction (though after several back and forth moments in which we most certainly caught their annoyance).

Once located we had to move debris around, again annoying our hosts, though we proceeded. Once we had access to the ship we were able to determine no life signs were aboard and it was essentially derelict. I made the decision to have the ship towed out the the salvage yard and back to us with K-7 where we set it in a secure area for further study.

Of ships present, The Akagi under (then) Commander Nimitz took point while I led the overall operation remotely via hololink, Lt JG Muirgen Finney operated the conn of the Akagi. Baton Rouge offered in depth sensor support, while experienced personnel from Valley Forge gave advice for issues along the way. The Valley Forge itself as well as the Eminence and my ship, the Shadowfax, were left securing the perimeter outside the yard until otherwise needed, which in this mission they were not. Only Baton Rouge and Akagi made entry into the yards and helped secure the Junayd derelict.

While very helpful in giving us the intel for this mission, Col. tr'Nanclus accompanied us on the Akagi, ostensibly to aid us and offer insight. I presume that was his view of it, in reality I only noticed him try to goad us into taking more militaristic actions and silently deriding our methods and careful pacing. I chose not to indulge him in his requests or in responding to his opinions however, as we succeeded regardless.

RECOMMENDATION: Further study of the Junayd derelict to learn more about their technology and species and if there is any information we can use to make peaceful contact, or if not, any tactical advantages we can learn.

Further, if the assignment to the Queldem F-219 Surplus Depot is not meant as a punishment for any officers there, perhaps it can be forwarded up to sector command that they might need to rotate people through there more often or other potential methods to improve morale. If it is a punishment, then it is clearly an effective one.

OOC: This is the November 15th Salvage mission run by Caspius (playing as that character's father of course). I took forever getting to this and I apologize for that. Though I did warn this might happen. As such due to it's lateness some information is out of date, such as the fact that Nimitz is no longer a Commander, but he was in this mission so that is why he is listed as such. If any other errors are present or anyone misrepresented, please let me know for corrections.
