MISSION: Clear Debris from DS 13 area.
OUTCOME: Multiple Quadrants around DS13 were cleared of debris and a path to fabricator was cleared.

NARRATIVE: USS KASSANDRA, AXIOM and ATLANTIS left Starbase K-7 on Stardate 94916.9 making best speed to DS 13. A preliminary course of action was discussed on the way, utilizing latest sensor readings and a grid plan provided by the reporting Captain.
Once there, USS KASSANDRA and AXIOM moved in first to start clearing heavy and large debris from the Quadrant. AXIOM launched its runabouts for scouting duty as well as Peregrine Fighters for escort, meanwhile, KASSANDRA's complement of Danube class Runabouts were dispatched to Atlantis to assist in clearing smaller parts.
AXIOMS auxiliary craft soon noticed several bio-signatures, indicating corpses in different areas of the debris field. Orders were given by CAPT Desimone to gather all bodies which was now the primary mission of the AXIOM's runabouts.
After several hours of clearing, CENT Vekkei noticed an incoming ship on sensors. The Squadron raised shields. Closer examination revealed it to be a D'kora class Marauder, slightly modified for additional speed. CAPT Desimone interrupted the clearing to intercept the ship as hails had gone unanswered. When confronted with the AXIOM and its tractor beams, the Ferengi panicked and attempted to evade, unsuccessfully, causing their ship to slam into some debris and causing extensive damage to the engines.
After some careful diplomacy from CAPT Desimone, the Ferengi ship, NORMAK, agreed to let us beam aboard teams to help fix their engines and deal with their wounded. CAPT Thiessen moved the ATLANTIS to take care of this task while the AXIOM continued to clear debris. CAPT Thiessen's teams detected that the Ferengi ship had come equipped with salvaging equipment, obviously intent on taking the station debris apart and with them. The teams swept the ship thoroughly, but did not find traces of previously collected salvage, indicating this was a first attempt to do a hit-and-run salvage ops.
CAPT Thiessen politely reminded the Ferengi that the Starbase was in fact, not subject for free salvage as it was still under Federation protection. The NORMAK left the system speedily after this.
KASSANDRA, AXIOM AND ATLANTIS continued clearing for the remainder of the mission. A full duty shift was spent in the area clearing several quadrants and a path to the industrial fabricator for easier access for future ships.
RECOMMENDATION: Continue clearing operations as necessary. Remain alert for potential raiders. Bodies collected should be identified ASAP and next of kin and COs notified.
