NARRATIVE:

USS Kassandra and USS Atlantis arrived at DS13 after asset and material coordination stardate 94938.4. CAPT Derix provided multiple runabouts and a supply of workerbees, which first took position around said damaged areas. Atlantis crews departed from the vessel aboard a shuttle, towing with necessary repair parts in a carrying frame. The plan was set as such -

  • Crews move repair parts in from the Atlantis, one trained EVA repair officer securing and monitoring the parts for each repair section.
  • Once parts are removed as necessary, move parts away to be collected and placed with the debris fields nearby so accidents will not occur.
  • Repair areas capable of being repaired.
  • Tow repair parts in, with workerbees assisting if necessary.
  • Replace parts as needed, scan to ensure strength of the structure before leaving.

Teams took to DS13 at all three compromised structure points, Teams A and B from Atlantis as well as Team Kassandra - reviewing the structure and beginning both repair work and removal as necessary. Team B encountered a problem during removal of damaged structures when LT Jo'lla's EV suit malfunctioned. I ordered her immediately beamed aboard Atlantis for medical examination. LTJG Eskel took her place, and repair and removal of the framing in Team B's area proceeded without further incident.

Once these items were complete, the repair parts were moved into closer by the attending officers. The frame these parts were stored inside malfunctioned on Team Kassandra's side, the propulsion device used to bring it to a 'stop' instead propelling it upward. Runabout Alpha-4 was able to tractor in and contain the material before it hit any structures above it, and with the help of workerbees was moved back into place beside Team Kassandra's point of repair.

When repairs and replacement of all damage structures were completed, scans were run on the integrity of all structures repaired. The skeleton's pain points are now resolved and the structure of that region has been repaired. Job complete, we returned to DS13.

RECOMMENDATION:

Now that this area is repaired, we should review for anymore potential external structural damage to the frame. The areas repaired today should be set in a new housing ASAP, so we can work toward further being able to repair internal damage.

OOC: This is part two of Project DS13 (Week 2) - Deconstruct Damaged Sections and Repair Spaceframe ... so the dirty NPCs don't have to do it alone :p Thanks, Minabi! She ran this in addition to last week's PC-led mission, which is much appreciated!
