LOCATION: Deep Space 13
MISSION: Primary: Repair or replace large essential components on the damaged starbase.
Secondary: Discover the whereabouts of missing freighter S.S. Ruzakad, last known to be ferrying components for the repairs.
OUTCOME: Repairs to Deep Space 13 completed 2 hours behind schedule as a result of the delay in the arrival of the replacement secondary computer core. S.S. Ruzakad and cargo recovered, though its crew was discovered to have been taken and are currently being held for a prisoner trade.

NARRATIVE: On stardate 95014.7, the U.S.S. Lexington set out on a mission to repair Deep Space 13. Our task was to repair and replace large essential components, specifically the shield generators and computer cores. Lexington was specifically outfitted for this mission, with our regular fighter complement exchanged for additional work bees and our cargo compartments emptied for room to store the required components.
By the time we set out, the S.S. Ruzakad, which was bringing the replacement secondary computer core among other computer core components to K-7, was over six hours late with no explanation. All attempts to contact the freighter failed. The U.S.S. Akagi and U.S.S. Attar was intended to travel with us to DS13, but as the Lexington had been optimized for the repair mission and was already en route, Akagi and Attar were diverted to search for the Ruzakad while Lexington went ahead to begin the repairs.
The repairs proceeded on schedule. Our initial plan was a top-down approach and as the secondary computer core was located among the lowest levels of the station, its delayed arrival did not initially impact our timetable. The only complication we encountered was when components from the Ruzakad were needed in the repairs of the primary computer core, but our engineers were able to quickly assemble these parts from what remained of the secondary core and other pieces of wreckage.
Five hours into the repairs, we contacted the Akagi and Attar once again. They revealed that they were on their way to DS13 with the Ruzakad and its cargo, though the freighter's crew had apparently been kidnapped. Upon their arrival, we installed the secondary computer core, completing the repairs and returning to Deep Space K-7.
As the Lexington was not present for the search for the S.S. Ruzakad, further reports will follow from the commanding officers of the search detailing what had occurred.
RECOMMENDATION: The kidnapping of personnel for a prisoner trade is a troublesome matter. It is further complicated by the fact that the assailants did not take the cargo of the Ruzakad despite the presence of a Starfleet-grade computer core, suggesting that the group responsible is resourceful enough to pass up such a valuable piece of technology. Further investigation is imperative.
OOC: This is part two of Project DS13 (Weeks 5 & 6) - Repair or Replace Large Essential Components. This report is to affirm that the last objective for Weeks 5 & 6 have been completed. As Leila was not ICly present for much of the event, a lot of information is not present here and will be filled in by subsequent reports.
Also Tau, I didn't forget you! He was intentionally omitted from the Key Personnel list as Leila was never made aware that the Atlantis responded to the distress call. If I missed anyone else let me know and I will make the appropriate corrections!
