MISSION: Negotiate the dismantlement of the superweapon known as the 'Ultranova'.

OUTCOME: Ace has agreed to dismantle the Superweapon as well as delete all blueprints regarding the weapon to prevent future construction of another superweapon.

NARRATIVE: Following orders from Admiral Amiri, and the previous diplomatic meeting with the Governors of Nelaraan, we arranged a meeting with the Being known as Ace on the planet Nelara IV, the landing party lead by myself, beamed down in front of Ace's house. We were greeted by the Governor Erasmus, after a brief introduction between himself and the new members of the away team, he lead us up to the house.

Upon our arrival to the house, we were greeted by an elderly man calling himself the Oracle of Ace. After another short introduction, he opened a door to allow us to talk with Ace himself. Once the figure called Ace entered the room, our tricorders picked up the chemical compound that made the attendees of the last meeting ill, however thanks to the medical department on the Endeavour, they were able to create a temporary immunity to it.

The meeting with Ace did not last very long, however he did agree to dismantle and delete all blueprints regarding the superweapon to insure it can never be rebuilt. The Ace figure displayed some signs of telepathic abilities and agreed to take down the weapon simply because we all agreed and desired it.

Once the objective was accomplished, we departed​ and returned to the Endeavour.

RECOMMENDATION: Although Ace has agreed to take down the weapon, We should remain in visual contact with the Nelaraans to insure that they do actually follow though with their promise.

LOCATION: Nelara System, Alpha 7190 Sector

MISSION: Oversee dismantling of the "Ultranova"

OUTCOME: Total dismantaling of the weapon overseen.

RECOMMENDATION: Following the above report, the Endeavour stayed in orbit around Nelara to oversee the dismantling of the Ultranova. This was completed expediently; the weapon was dismantled and the remains broke orbit, re-entering the atmosphere around Nelara and burning up. The Nelaraans have also stated that all records of the weapon have been purged from their systems.

It is this officer's recommendation that we leave the Nelaraans in peace now. Having fulfilled our original mission, we must allow the Nelaraans to go about in peace and not interfere with their lives. Previous negotiations should now be put on hold unless the Nelaraans reach out to us. If they do not, I do not believe that they present a threat to the galaxy and can be safely ignored. We will place a long-range probe in the area, for both general surveillance of the area and to scout out further areas of exploration, as well as to monitor the Nelaraans for any signs of another superweapon being built; whilst I trust the Nelaraans to have wiped out all traces of the weapon, it is unknown what the future may hold.

Following this, I recommend that all Starfleet ships withdraw from Nelaraan space, including the USS Endeavour, and the USS al-Haytham; the latter reports that the supernova is now within safe levels to be left alone to decay itself.
