LOCATION: Yu System, Boreth Sector
MISSION: USS Kassandra was to investigate the Yu system and the splinter civilization called the Faithful under cloak.
OUTCOME: USS Kassandra gathered intel on the Faithful without being detected despite the arrival of a Tholian ship.

NARRATIVE:
USS Kassandra was ordered by the reporting Captain to travel to the Yu system to investigate the status of the Faithful, a splinter group identified by the Ravenites during the First Contact conducted recently. (See AAR here: AAR Ravenwing )
USS Kassandra picked up Ambassador Perim and CAPT Simon O'brian for the duration of the mission, then proceeded to the Yu system under cloak.
Upon arrival, CADET Tierno immediately recognized a much larger scale military presence. Estimates put the number of Faithful ships at 4 to 1 in comparison to the Ravenites. The ships themselves were close to the design of the Ravenite counterparts, focused on tactical strength (scans attached). The Armistice station had been destroyed, not just deactivated or disassembled and multiple ships were conducting maneuvers in orbit and around the system. Keeping a safe distance, USS KASSANDRA proceeded towards the two M-Class planets in the system. It should be noted that scans indicated that, while not used, the anomaly connecting the Yu System to the system of the Ravenites is active and not 'shut' down as was previously stated. The reporting Captain attributes this misunderstanding to an error in communication for the time being.
The reporting Captain ordered scans of the local communication channels, including a broad analysis of civilian communication. The associated recordings and readings have been categorized and collated in a file attached to this report. From those communications, one important piece of information stands out. The Faithful are gearing up for what they call a Holy Crusade to attack the Ravenites in the near future. Their military has increased drafting measures to that end and it also explains the large number of military vessels in the system.
Closer analysis of the two planets also identified they are inhabited by 3 separate species. One, the Faithful, is indeed identical to the Ravenites, biologically speaking, however, the other two are Reptilian and Avian respectively. Based on snippets of civilian comms traffic, these could be considered second class citizens (See attached file, section Communications-Report, Demonstrations, Equal Rights).
CAPT O'Brian managed to collect and gather a lot of data from the local comms channels. A closer analysis of this data should yield some more information about the status.
The reporting Captain planned to spend more time collecting information before leaving, however, the plan was interrupted when a Tholian ship dropped out of warp and proceeded to move into orbit around the planet. USS Kassandra was not detected and we continued to observe. They did not act aggressively.
The Tholians beamed one of their own to the surface. Unfortunately, we could not isolate the signal of the Tholian due to jamming put in place by the Tholian ship. Closer investigation would have risked alerting the Tholians to the presence of the USS Kassandra. The reporting Captain deemed this a risk not worth taking on this particular mission. After confirming that no hostilities happened and confirming that the general civilian population is not aware of these Aliens (a scan for Tholians on the channels yielded nothing a scan for Aliens only led to a conspiracy show which is attached for further study), the reporting Captain decided to leave the system and return to DS13.
RECOMMENDATION:
The reporting Captain recommends a thorough analysis of the data collected. In the meantime, the diplomatic Corps should consider how to proceed with our relations with the Ravenites, seeing as an attack on them is in the near future. A copy of this report is sent to the Federation Attache Lev bim Bozgid and Ambassador Perim for consideration.
The reporting Captain also suggests a follow-up mission to identify more closely what the Tholian involvement on the planet is.
