NARRATIVE: After having identified a Tholian ship in the Yu System during the prior, short survey, USS Kassandra was tasked with going back to the Yu System to get a closer look at the Tholian involvement and gather more information.

The Reporting Captain contacted both Captain Nimitz and Captain Bishop for additional assistance in this matter. En route to the Yu System, USS Kassandra stopped by the homeworld of the Protectorate. In an effort to show good-will and a desire to be open in communication, an attache from the Protectorate was brought aboard. First Lieutenant Valencia and Commander Leveson-Scott along with Captain Tanaka also joined the USS Kassandra here.

With additional information from the Attache, Grand Admiral Vanko, the crew of the Kassandra began preparations for an in-depth recon mission including an away team disguised as locals to gather relevant information. While Kassandra was underway to the Yu System, the proposed away team, consisting of LCDR DePriest, 1STLT Valencia, CAPT Tanaka, LTJG Troughton and CADET Tierno prepared their aliases and strategy for the undercover assignment. Doctor T'Vrell then performed necessary cosmetic alterations.

Upon arrival in the Yu System, Kassandra first did a thorough sweep of the area to make sure no Tholians were current present while remaining under cloak. After confirmation, the ship proceeded to one of the main worlds to scout for an appropriate landing site. Once the site was established, the Away Team proceeded to gather supplies and then beamed down to the surface.

Here is where things get interesting. After only a short period of time moving through the local area, the Away Team was approached by the local military. Keeping a respectable amount of calm under the given circumstances allowed the team to continue with the mission as they learned that they had been contacted by a splinter group in the local government, mistaking the away team for spies from the Protectorate. The movement against the powers that be seems to be bigger than originally anticipated, or at least better connected. The group informed the Away Team that they had gained access to a top-secret facility and gave them necessary identification to take the place of an inbound research team.

The team was given a strict time limit before they would be discovered as imposters. The team then moved to take advantage of the situation, being delivered into what we assume is a central Military Complex of the Ravenites. Here they were greeted and tasked with further upgrading the warhead carrying capacity of Ravenite Ships. They were brought into a workroom and left alone which gave them the time to thoroughly investigate what was actually going on. LCDR DePriest, upon analyzing the warhead specifications they had been given, noticed that the Torpedo Design was Tholian in origin.

With Ravenite Technology being less advanced, there was a lot of paperwork in the room. LTJG Troughton suggested to beam all file cabinets on board the Kassandra and replicate them there before beaming them back down. The plan was quickly executed.

Along with this discovery, our Away Team was made aware of an incoming message on the local computer terminal. Our suspicion is that it was the same group that originally helped the Away Team gain access. Included in the message was the recording of a group of Ravenite High Officials being spoken to by what could pose as a Tholian. The Away Team also caught the mention of an entity named "Blue Spider". It is the Reporting Captain's belief that this "Blue Spider" is the contact to the Iskel Cartel.

After successful duplication of all files, the Away Team moved out of the location and was transported back aboard safely. It is to be expected that the local authorities step up security after this.

Once back aboard, the duplicated files were analyzed and cataloged. A full report is attached. The core thing is that they confirm the connection with the Iskel Cartel and currently hold no other information on further Tholian involvement. However, it is believed that the Tholians have a deeper interest in the area. Potentially, they are interested in the stable Bridge between the two systems, as they have shown interest in such matters before. During this time, Kassandra remained in orbit for further observation. Upon the completion of the analysis, Kassandra left the system and dropped non-permanent personnel off before heading back to DS13.

RECOMMENDATION: The reporting Captain recommends a quick intervention in the affairs. Currently, the Ravenites would be dangerously advantaged in local conflict and this only due to outside influence. The reporting Captain believes it would be best for Starfleet to keep Tholian influence to a minimum in that area.

The Iskel Cartel is known to facilitate Tholian take-overs. It should be investigated if this is the plan here as well and if it is, prevented.

OOC: This event was run over several days/weeks on a Discord Server. If I forgot anything important, please let me know as I sifted through the chatlogs for quite a while. :)
