LOCATION: Asteroid Field B142, Ba'aja Sector.

MISSION: Verification of intel passed on to Captain Bishop.

OUTCOME: Intelligence verified, five slaves freed, and four slavers captured.

KEY PERSONNEL:
LT Josie Read
ENS Mitsuki Rumiho
ENS Mivek Tonorr

1LT Gabriella Valencia

NARRATIVE: The shuttlecraft Marton, reconfigured to mask emissions for stealth, departed with the above officers to the coordinates that we had been given. The location was an unusual asteroid field that contained large rocks in a tightly packed formation, limiting the size of the ships that could enter the field. Upon approaching the drop zone undetected, we witnessed a small shuttle and a small ship, arrive at the coordinates. A quick scan showed six occupants in the shuttle, one at the front, with the other five held at the back; our slaves. The ship had three more occupants.

This officer then stated that we attempt to rescue the slaves, which was contrary to the orders that we were given by Captain Bishop to just observe. It was this officer's thought that we could complete the mission whilst rescuing the captives, and I put this case across to Lieutenant Read, who was the mission CO. The Lieutenant agreed, and it was decided that we take the ships by surprise to capture the slavers and the slaves, after the slaves were beamed across; this would complete the transaction and thus verify that there was indeed a trade of slaves. This officer must note that Ensign Tonorr strongly objected to this order and Ensign Mitsuki also voiced her concern to do more than simple observation. Both concerns were noted, and both officers complied with actions going forward.

Straight after the slaves were beamed across, this officer and Ensign Tonorr beamed over to the larger ship, and took the bridge without casulties; Lieutenant Read beamed over to the shuttle and did the same. After beaming the away teams, the slaves, and the slavers back on board, as well as downloading data from both vessels, we destroyed the shuttle and the ship, making it look like an accident so that outside interference could not be ascertained from the wreckage. After making sure there were no traces of our involvement, we withdrew.

RECOMMENDATION: This officer believes that taking action against the slavers was within the mission parameters to verify the intel that was given, which we did. Taking action against the slavers ensured that we saved the slaves that were held, and that we were able to gain more information about the operation than we could have gotten had we merely observed. Precautions were taken to ensure that our actions would not jeopardise the mission.

I recommend that we use the intelligence that we have gathered to move against the slave ring, though I am aware that this may take some time as we build up a larger case against them.

OOC: A small event with the Endeavour crew.
