LOCATION: System K 2324, Kelterre Sector!

MISSION: Neutralize slavers and rescue prisoners.

OUTCOME: Mission successful. Henry Hawkins' role in situation discovered.

KEY PERSONNEL:
CAPT S. Bishop
CAPT A. Nimitz
CAPT R. Hanson
LT S. Valore
ENS Mitsuki R.

NARRATIVE: Captain Bishop acquired intelligence that suggests a slaver vessel's location and cargo. Three ships proceeded to intercept. Following contact, the the Ferengi vessel(the one carrying the slaves) was attacked almost immediately after beaming slaves aboard a Borta vessel by a mysterious fifth ship. The Borta agreed to an inspection before quickly opening fire upon the Federation vessels. During the firefight, a fifth ship appeared and began to fire on the Ferengi vessel. Once the enemy's shields were down, this officer took a detachment of Pegasus forces to the hostile vessel's main engineering in order to sabotage both its weapons and warp capability. Both were successful. At the same time, Lieutenant Valencia took a detachment of forces to extract the slaves. This was also successful.

Once the vessel was defenseless, Captain Nimitz attempted to acquire an agreement of unconditional surrender. This was met with no response. The unknown fifth vessel then proceeded to make contact with us. The commander of the vessel was Henry Hawkins, the same one from the Drozana Incident. He had captured all of the command staff of the Ferengi vessel as they attempted to flee. He returned them in exchange for Captain Nimitz's agreement that the Ferengi vessel now belonged to him with the singular condition from Captain Nimitz that it was the Captain who would choose the new name for the vessel. This officer recommended that Nimitz deny the request and proceed to acquire Henry Hawkins for questioning, but the Captain agreed. This officer does not voice an objection, as the situation was difficult and there was no guarantee Hawkins would not successfully flee.

RECOMMENDATION: Prisoners be brought to the brig of DS13 for further questioning. Rescued slaves be reintegrated into society. Henry Hawkins be acquired for questioning.

This officer is of the opinion that Henry Hawkins' presence at Drozana and now here is no coincidence. It is the opinion of this officer that was formulated during Drozana that Henry Hawkins is a dangerous individual that has deep connections with slavery in the region. Henry Hawkins attacked and destroyed ships with impunity, and has done so without consequences as of right now. Efforts should be made to investigate this situation and deal with him appropriately.

Doing nothing would be the worst possible course of action. The longer we wait and do nothing, the more resources this man acquires for his illicit rackets. Finding out what the prisoners know would be the first step.

OOC: Do let me know if I missed anything! Updated to include location, along with an important correction to substance regarding Ferengi, Borta, and Henry destroying the Ferengi ship at the start.

ADDENDUM: To clarify a small detail in the above report, the intel gained by this officer was given by Captain Sadia Cynis from the I.K.S. Daramar. She informed me that she received this information from Mister Hawkins himself, who has a good relationship with Captain Cynis. It seems that, after the failure at Drozana, Mister Hawkins shared his intel with the KDF instead, for an unknown price.

RECOMMENDATION: Whatever his reasons, the intel we had to launch this mission came from Mister Hawkins. Whilst I agree with Lieutenant Valore's recommendation to bring this man in for questioning, I doubt it would yield any results that we could act on. In fact, it may seek to damage the little confidence this man has with Starfleet, and we may lose access to further information that he may be able to get.

I would also like to place my commendations for the following officers; Commander Larson and Ensign Mitsuki. The former's command of the U.S.S. Bark was excellent, I am told that the latter's flight abilities gave the U.S.S. Bark a large advantage in the battlefield.

In addition, I would like to commend both Lieutenant Valore and Captain Valencia for the command of their respective boarding efforts. The pair of them performed admirably under difficult conditions, with Lieutenant Valore being instrumental to disabling the enemy ship from the inside, and Captain Valencia rescuing the slaves that had been taken, no doubt saving their lives by preventing collateral damage. Their contributions to the complete success of this mission cannot be overstated.
