NARRATIVE:

At approximately Stardate 96533.9, the R.R.W. Leahval received a call to aid from the U.S.S. Endeavour while on patrol. As we were in the vicinity, our ship altered course to assist. Long range scans from warp indicated three Starfleet vessels engaged with seven ships of unknown origin. It was to be revealed these ships belong to a species called the Xedi, less advanced aliens and not members of the Federation. Upon arrival, the Laehval conducted a rapid tactical assessment before engaging Xedi vessels attacking the Endeavour until Captain Bishop began organizing the battle plan.

As more Starfleet ships began to respond to Captain Bishop’s hails, the Laehval was tasked with the U.S.S. Prince of Wales to engage specific Xedi targets. While the Prince of Wales destroyed one ship, the Laehval focused on disabling, taking out the weapons system of our targets. At this point, Captain Bishop issued complimentary orders, insisting we aim to disable instead of destroy. The Laehval managed to successfully disable the engines of the Xedi vessel we had crippled before using a tractor beam to stabilize the ship and bring it back to where our Fleet had assembled. Starfleet ships were able to disable all but one of the other Xedi ships, including the Xedi transport they appear to have been guarding.

Once secured, the Laehval returned to its cloaked state and began to patrol for additional Xedi forces while the Starfleet ships corralled the rest of the damaged ships. Cleanup operations proceeded without incident and the crews of the Xedi ships were secured by Starfleet for transport back to Deep Space 13.

RECOMMENDATION:

This operation was efficient and appears to have resulted in minimal damage to Federation vessels. I would recommend interrogating crew members taken from the Xedi ships in order to understand the purpose of their assault and if they are representatives of their government or a rogue faction attempting to sow dissent.

While the Republic has not, to my knowledge, been involved in the Federation’s attempts to work with the Xedi, I would humbly suggest information extracted from the crew members be shared with the Republic in case of future joint operations. As stated, this recommendation will be brought directly to the Starbase Commander, as Captain Ailes will be responsible for detaining and interrogating the Xedi captives.

NARRATIVE: During a routine patrol, our sensors detected a Xedi transport ship carrying an unusually high amount of weaponry. Upon detecting our ship, the transport ship began to speed away from us, with shields up. Hails were ignored, and Commander Dedoz informed us that there were no records of the Xedi government having sent transport ships into this area. We continued to follow the transport, maintaining a steady speed and distance away from the ship whilst continuing our attempt to raise communications. However, six Xedi ships suddenly decloaked and began to open fire on the Endeavour, their first shot hitting our port nacelle and hindering our ability to warp. Our return shot disabled one ship, whilst the others began to perform evasive manoeuvres, and the transport ship attempting to escape. This officer then deployed the U.S.S. Bark under the command of Commander Larson to track down and prevent the transport ship from escaping, whilst the Endeavour continued to battle the enemy ships. Commander Samaras began to scan the area for nearby allied vessels.

The U.S.S. Euripides and the U.S.S. Singapore were the first to arrive at the scene. The Singapore managed to stop the transport, whilst the Euripides moved to assist us. It was becoming clear that these ships were not of Xedi standard configuration, the ships using distinctively high-grade Klingon weaponry, and that they would not be defeated in a simple skirmish. This officer began to give tactical orders to the allied ships in order to carefully concentrate fire and disable the vessels. Commander Samaras had also managed to call in reinforcements in the form of the U.S.S. Prince of Wales and the R.R.W Laehval. Finally, we were joined by the U.S.S. Pegasus, U.S.S. Shackleton, and the D.V. Founders' Wisdom. The battle quickly turned in our favour and the remaining enemy vessels were disabled or destroyed without much difficulty. One of the ships began to flee, and though the U.S.S. Bark attempted to pursue, the ship escaped.

The transport and the enemy ships were impounded and the crew transferred to the brig of the U.S.S. Endeavour.

RECOMMENDATION: The Xedi ships that have been brought back to the station should be checked for full configurations in order to build a threat assessment of the ships for future contact. Analysis into where the Xedi received their advanced technology from should also be undertaken.

The transporter crew should be questioned for their suspicious behaviour and cargo. The ship's logs should be checked for the intended destination of the cargo. Finally, Xedi government should be contacted for permission to either try the Xedi prisoners in a Federation court for the unprovoked attack of a Starfleet vessel, or the prisoners transferred to the Xedi government to be dealt with as they please.

I wish to also extend my personal gratitude to all ships that came to the aid of the Endeavour, including our allies in the Dominion and Romulan Republic. All commanding officers performed well, following orders given by this officer and working together to quickly deescalate the situation effectively and efficiently with no loss of life.

ADDENDUM: The following is and addendum to further shed light on the sequence of events that transpired from the perspective of the Singapore's involvement in the matter. We were on route back to Deep Space 13 when we received the call for assistance from the U.S.S. Endeavour. We redirected to answer their call and, while at warp, made the decision to attempt a capture of the transport vessel described by the comm officer of the Endeavour, as we (senior command on the Singapore) believed it to be a valuable asset.

As we dropped out of warp, we locked onto the transport with a tractor beam and we were immediately under fire from two more Xedi fighters that were, as described, equipped with upgraded weaponry (high-grade disruptors, most likely of Klingon origin). We attempted to cycle around the transport vessel and make a sharp turn around to disable the two ships. However, one of their fighters managed to clip the transport with their weapons fire, which resulted in a large explosion aboard. The transport was badly damaged, but according to a quick scan of the vessel, life support was still in operation, though some of the crew aboard were badly injured.

RECOMMENDATION: The transporter crew and their transport and cargo were hit by weapons fire from their own rebel forces. Should charges be raised, the U.S.S. Singapore would gladly provide the recordings.

OOC: This is the Singapore's addendum for part one of the event
"Even When They're Winning", GM'd by Beylara. Basically, Tanaka has to explain why the transport was so banged up. A sort of "I didn't do it, they did!" sort of thing.
