Stardate 89471.3 After Action Report for Test Operation Raid - R.R.W. Song of Regret, commanding officer Commander Faerith.

On Stardate 89464.3, the R.R.W. Song of Regret reports to Outpost Argo for new registry. A short time after, Commander Faerith takes the new assault ship on a shakedown cruise near the Federation/Klingon border to conduct covert raids and utilize Klingon disruption tactics. The objective of this operation was met with success and minimal casualties to friendly forces.

During the first outpost raid, the ‘Regret drops out of warp and into a sensor nullifying nebula, which masked approach vectors and disrupted enemy sensors, allowing for discreet activation of cloak. Recon shuttles were dispatched to conduct sweeps for hostile forces and successfully located a small Klingon station. Initial sweeps of the station suggested that it was used as an information and minor command and control center. Commander Faerith orders the mobilization of the ‘Regret’s Covert-Ops division, with the intention of placing numerous saboteurs in key locations of the station. One such team reported back via tight-beam transmission that the enemy station received reports from two other like installations. Once the data was mined, the teams placed explosive charges in various locations and were extracted. At this time, the R.R.W. Song of Regret is positioned behind the Klingon patrol ships, two (2) Birds of Prey and one (1) Vor’cha-class battlecruiser, decloaks, and opens fire with her forward batteries and beam arrays. The Klingon vessels’ shields were down at this time, indicating that the ‘Regret’s cloaking system is near perfect with zero tachyon emissions. Enemy vessels were dispatched quickly with no survivors. At the same time, the explosives aboard the station were detonated, leaving no window for the enemy to send a distress call. The R.R.W. Song of Regret swept for survivors and found none before policing up her recon shuttles and departing for one of the other two installations.

((Report on other two installations is much like the first with little change))

Upon completion of the operation, the R.R.W. Song of Regret departs the border to report back to Outpost Argo. While en route, communications picked up a distress signal from the U.S.S. Agamemnon, explaining that they, as well as the U.S.S. October, were in direct conflict with KDF vessels. When the ‘Regret drops out of warp, she is instructed to pull along-side the U.S.S. October and provide cover. One of the KDF vessels, a ship of Gorn design, had been transmitting a cyber warfare attack virus, which marginally affected the ‘Regret’s systems. The other KDF vessel, a Bird of Prey, had taken a position near the ‘Regret when it decloaked. The ‘Regret and October proceeded to fire upon the Bird of Prey, disabling it and rendering it combat-ineffective. While preparing assault forces, sensors detected that the Gorn vessel had beamed the remaining ‘Prey’s crew to them and proceeds to warp out of the system. At this time, Commander Faerith orders support personnel to assist in the emergency repairs of the U.S.S. Agamemnon and the U.S.S. October. Once complete, the ‘Regret assisted in towing the Agamemnon back to Outpost Argo, while the October returns under it’s own power. This is a final report, pending review. Stardate 89471
