Argo News Network Report - Fleet Re-Structuring

Greetings fellow Argonauts! This is Lieutenant Shannon Delora for ANN, your source, for your news.

Following the recent restructuring of fleet operations, we had a chance to observe as Aegis Squadron, tentative new callsign for the Battle Group tasked with defending the front line of the Klingon conflict, as they participated in training simulations intended to foster greater coordination with our allies from the Romulan Republic.

We had a brief chance to sit down with Captain Kell Tanis of the U.S.S. Dan Daly, recently assigned to lead the newly formed squadron, who had this to say:

"In ancient earth mythology, the Aegis was the shield of the goddess Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. As a symbol, the Aegis represents our duty to protect the Federation from her enemies. As a moniker, it reminds us of that duty and the fact that wisdom and strategy can bring victory where conventional means might bring only defeat."

Argo Command issued a statement explaining the recent re-structuring stating that it would help provide dedicated groups to oversee all aspects of Argo's mission. We will be meeting with the other squadron commanders as their assignments make them available.

Lieutenant Shannon Delora, signing off.
