On Stardate 89715.1, Task Force Argo communications relays received a distress call from Starbase 294 indicated they had detected a sizable Klingon force on approach. Forces from Task Force Argo were within range and responded. Vessels from other units responded and integrated with the Argo force.
As senior Captain of the Argo forces present, I took command of the operation and coordinated the Starbase's defense. The R.R.W. Sel'tania and the R.R.W. Raptor took charge of either flank of the assault and were able to funnel the Klingon ships into the bulk of the defensive fleet.
The Klingon ships were all eventually destroyed or forced to withdraw doing only minor damage to the Starbase. Two Starfleet ships were forced to withdraw due to damages sustained in the engagement.
Starbase 294 requested a continued presence as supply ships were re-routed to assist with repairs. Task Force Argo vessel U.S.S. Lythar responded to bolster the defensive presence around the Starbase in lieu of the damaged vessels. Long-range sensors registered a second Klingon force de-cloaking around the Starbase as the relief vessels arrived. I ordered a break of the defensive formation to defend the non-combat vessels.
The entire Klingon force was routed or destroyed and the Starbase was successfully repaired. Four non-combat vessels, however, were lost in the engagement.
