Report From Delta Volcanis.

To: Task Force Argo Command
CC: AG-21-8 Senior Staff

The following is submitted after two days of searching for a habitable planet in the Delta Volcanis system. An M-class planet, devoid of sentient fauna has been located roughly seven light years into the system. The exact location is attached at the end of this report. As far as current scans have shown, this planet (DV-44628) is an excellent candidate for colonization. However, earlier this shift sensors detected what is believed to have been an intermittent contact with a cloaked Klingon warship. At current, the Novo is ill-equipped to handle a confrontation with an enemy vessel of that class. Attempts to hail any vessels that may be in the vicinity of DV-44628, in order to establish diplomatic talks, have failed. I request additional instructions and support from command.

AG-21-8 Senior Staff Response:

Our records indicate that planet DV-44628 does not merit any overwhelming significance of scientific or tactical value in the region. Therefor, if the presence of a Klingon Warship indicates the possibility of something over-looked.

At this juncture you are advised to remain in the area and monitor the situation at your own discretion. While no vessels are currently in the immediate vicinity, the U.S.S. Albion can be dispatched to provide support.

If you feel the best course of action is to investigate further and believe it to be within the Novo's capabilities you have full authorization. Contrarily, if the situation demands your withdrawal, you are cleared to do so as well.

In my judgment, I have dropped the colonists on deep space 9 until I can ascertain what is going on. Another matter has arisen, apparently a witness who wishes not to be named has seen...A mirror universe version of myself on deep space 9. This...report will have to wait until matters in Delta Volcanis are brought to conclusion.
