PURPOSE OF EVALUATION

Determine subject's state of mental health for subject's impending court martial.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

At this time, authority will register that the authority has previously met and interacted with the subject in non-professional capacities. The observations made in this evaluation report will be limited to those that were made only during the evaluation interview.

Authority’s initial inquiries were primarily about the subject’s species and home planet. Authority recognizes that the subject’s race is generally fairly isolated, independent and frequently lacking interest in the ‘larger’ scheme of things. Despite the fact that subject did not spend the majority of his maturation among his own kind, authority feels that many of these traits continue to persist in the subject, whether by early cultural acclimation or by genetic instinct. Authority observes that while the subject has assimilated to some degree to the expectations upon him, by and large, the subject will likely remain largely unpredictable, due to his general lack of interest in the satisfaction of beings other than himself.

The subject is particularly vulnerable to boredom and seems to require constant stimulation or distraction. Subject appears to disdain silence, likely due to his severe lack of interest in self-introspection, and is not above baiting others for the sake of his own entertainment.

The authority easily identifies the subject to be a consummate actor, capable of being exceptionally charismatic and charming, all in order to achieve and attract the attention of others, primarily for the sake of controlling and manipulating the direction of conversation. Frequently it appears that the subject is self-absorbed, almost to an obnoxious degree, as the subject continually chooses topics or anecdotes that feature himself. However, the subject rarely reveals anything of material in these recollections and subject is particularly adept at deflecting inquiries that run too personal. Authority continues to be unsure as to why the subject feels, consciously or otherwise, that this fairly classic defense mechanism is necessary.

While the authority was unable to collect a verbal admission of regret or guilt from the subject over previous criminal acts, authority is able to report at this time that the subject did feel some minor vestiges of both when confronted on these events.

The authority notes that the subject does possess redeeming personality traits that Starfleet tends to find attractive. Subject appears to be capable of great loyalty and genuinely abhors the concept of injuring others without sufficient cause. Subject’s willingness to make decisions that disagree with the generally accepted order of things stem from his perception that any morally contractual obligation that existed has already been broken by the opposing party, rather than out of any particular malice, which leaves him free to take whatever measures he deems necessary to resolve things.
