After Action Report

LOCATION Deep Space

MISSION Investigate signs of Tholian activity.

OUTCOME Tholian presence detected, possible bioweapon found.

KEY PERSONNEL

  • CAPT Nimitz, A.

NARRATIVE The U.S.S. Pegasus encountered a Tholian vessel seemingly having originated from Azedi space. Arrangements were made to go aboard and acquire the contents of its computer for further examination at a later date. Due to the potential existence of a trap, precautions were made. The vessel itself is believed to be part of a Tholian colonial fleet.

Once information was being recovered, it was hypothesized by our science department and bridge crew that the vessel was being used to grow a strain of P.Stellaviatori spores as a farm to reproduce more over the course of six months.

The team that dissected the computer also recovered flight plans. Attached to it was atmospheric data of a planet transforming from a Class Y to Class N. The distress call associated with the data was a call for vengeance and retribution. Captain Nimitz suggested that we may have killed their queen, potentially during previous engagements with Tholians, but I have no information to affirm or dispute that.

RECOMMENDATION This officer lacks sufficient information to give a substantive recommendation. I recommend Command analyze the situation and issue orders as needed.

RECOGNITION All performed as expected of them.

Tholian Involvement in the Kinjer System

USS Pegasus Intelligence Report

Captain Nimitz,

Further to Article 13, Section 1(b) of the Starfleet charter, I am pleased to share with you information gathered on the announced subject for intelligence purposes.

This report breaks down the information we have learned regarding the Tholian involvement in the Kinjer System including; force command, origin and destination, and their interest in the P.Stellaviatori colonies.

This report also contains an assessment of the star system itself and our ongoing commitment to protect P.Stellaviatori colonies.

THREAT ASSESSMENT There is a credible threat to the Federation, Starfleet and Khitomer Alliance beyond that which has already been observed.

The potential destabilization of a Tholian colony would have ramifications throughout the assembly, which would impact interstellar relations, especially due to the perceived aggressions of Starfleet, Ferengi Alliance and Klingon Empire registered vessels, or in other words “bipedal carbon based lifeforms”.

GROUPS/PERSONS OF INTEREST

  • Tholian Assembly
  • Unknown Belligerent

NARRATIVE First, to address the Tholian involvement.

The two Tholian taskforces the Pegasus engaged with were classified as colonial support ships, whilst usually more than capable of defending themselves against light assault from pirate and raiding parties, the combined efforts of four Starfleet vessels were able to dispatch the fleets with relative ease. While a majority of ships were able to retreat, the few that were destroyed gave valuable insight.

Pegasus teams analysed the fragments of a Tholian Crystalline Lattice Core as well as carrying out a warp signature analysis and P.Stellaviatori culture simulation. The results are broken down below;

Finally, the Kinjer system itself. Due to the large amount of subspace permeating kineplasmic radiation in the region, long range sensors both looking in, and out of the Kinjer system are nearly useless. This presents both opportunities and challenges to overcome.

We have no reliable method of determining what is happening within the Kinjer system, while a probe net could be setup within the system, the very same interference would prevent the data being sent to us. Likewise Tholian activities are equally hampered.

RECOMMENDATION It is my belief that we should carry out further investigations into the Tholian involvement, in particular to learn why they believe these Spores in particular are useful to them.

Furthermore, we should investigate any planets which had been classified as Class Y in the past, but now resemble Class N planets, they may have undergone a similar process that the Tholians are trying to avert.

Finally, a diplomatic approach towards the Tholians may be preferred, they may be unaware of their closeness to Azedi space, and I have no doubts an Azedi attack would be as much of a provocation to the Tholians as an attack of our own design.

USS Pegasus
