BIOGRAPHICAL HIGHLIGHTS
Costas was born stardate 68255.9 in the city of Corfu. The small town is situated on the western coast of an island with the same name. This Mediterranean Sea community is largely built around the tourism industry and is known for beautiful, scenic vistas with accompanying amenities. His parents, Belen and Agata, are both native to the island. As a boy Costas and his younger brother Ambrose were exposed to a wide variety of both Earth and alien cultures. He grew up in a very social atmosphere and developed an outgoing, largely extroverted personality as a result. Exposure to his mother's profession introduced him to the medical field, although it wasn't a dedicated career choice until his late teens.
Costas applied for and was accepted to the academy shortly after his 18th birthday. He took mostly prerequisite courses until settling on biology during his sophomore year. He applied himself to his studies with the intent to gain admittance to Starfleet Medical upon graduation. A research trip to the colony of Fosam II and a peculiar hereditary disease inspired him to specialize in medical genetics.
