BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Mana-Arshai Dos Sndoi'Ihaie'Vaie Nos Indoi-Ihai, commonly simplified to 'Mana,' is an Arshai artificial intelligence specialist rescued by the USS Gainsborough (See this report for more information). She was first encountered by Starfleet when she attempted to take her escape craft through the anomaly-filled border of the Great Black Hole. Having lived her life inside the anomaly zone within the space controlled by the EereE Order, Mana was a part of a group labelled 'deviants,' a rebel faction among the EereE who did not agree with the decisions of their AI Overseer. She was forced to flee when the Order located and destroyed the ship she was on.

Following the loss of the Gainsborough (See this report for more information), Mana has chosen to remain on the USS Valley Forge, where she worked with the engineering team to research and implement countermeasures against the Azedi. During her time on the Valley Forge, Mana became aware of the Arshai Colonial Fleet and the independent New World colony consisting of Arshai who did not choose to integrate into the EereE Order following the loss of their homeworld.

After the Battle of Deep Space 13, two Colonial Fleet battleships led by Caeru-Faeshe Dos Indoi'Vaie'Take Nos Rosu-Vondorei Indoi-Vondoree arrived at Deep Space K-7 to repay supplies taken from the Federation to assist Starfleet in their time of need. Caeru revealed that the New World Council had opened their doors to Mana, and she chose to depart with the Colonial vessels to learn more of her people's traditional culture. She is expected to return to Federation space, but in what capacity is unknown.

As the subject is a species that we have never encountered before, we have no data with which we may compare. However, Mana does not seem to have any outstanding issues and appears to be in good health.

Mana does possess technological modifications to her body, the most prominent of which is the biosynthetic left arm. According to Mana, this is not an augmentation for the sake of improvement, but a replacement for her natural arm, which was destroyed by a directed energy weapon. It does nonetheless grant her a number of improvements such as increasing her arm strength beyond that of a normal Arshai as well as allowing her to directly interface with computers via a port similar to Borg tubules.

Mana is equipped with a VISOR that performs not unlike those used in the Federation for individuals with impaired vision. Unlike the arm, this is not for correctional purposes. Mana's eyes do not show any sign of myopia, hyperopia or any identifiable condition, but they are only capable of detecting infrared and certain reds. For Mana and other Arshai, the use of a VISOR is essential to using displays emitting in the visible light spectrum, including Federation and apparently EereE technology. Mana's VISOR also allows for her to communicate with the drones that accompany her.

Both cybernetics are intricately connected to Mana's nervous system. She can remove the external part of her VISOR on her own and chooses to do so when it is not necessary (e.g. for sleep), but permanent removal of either will require a surgical procedure.

For reference, consult Dr. Sorol's report on Arshai biology.
