Most of these depict scenes from the Centauromachy, a myth where centaurs and the Lapiths, a Greek tribe. The Lapiths invite the centaurs to a wedding, where they get drunk and try to rape the bride, before the Lapiths come to the rescue and drive out the centaurs.
