o -Engineering: The U.S.S. Heimdall operates using reverse engineered Dyson technology. One of the vessels to have been provided with a Subspace Rift warp core, the crew are constantly maintaining the levels and containment flows to ensure a repeat of what occurred with the U.S.S. Aegis fails to happen. The Subspace Rift warp core, or what it's based on, is in effect mostly similar to a standard antimatter warp core found within the operating vessels of the fleet, though a noticeable difference once pointed out to me was the sound in Engineering. Looking of the vitals of the ship and it's power levels, there yet appears to be a fault within the systems controlling the core, with no means to create alarm surrounding it's use. The one item that did catch my eye, and at first exceptional curiousity, was the large beam-like device extending from the warp core, leading through into the ships internals. Captain S'ill explained this was again engineered through Dyson tech', and is one of the first devices of it's kind to be tested aboard a Federation vessel - with plans to project similar design specifications to other ships of the class in due time. The Proton Particle Stabilizer as it was called, amplifies warp energy spared from the core's waste, and transfers it to other systems so that even when idle the power levels are never low-enough to halt an instant call to duty.

o -Comm systems: The ship follows the standard layout concerning an Odyssey Class, the communications console being to the back right of the bridge does allow the both the Captain and the Officer manning the station an exceptional line of sight to each other, save for the slight interference of the modern holo-display variant of LCARS. As the the ship was docked with Deep Space Thirteen, as Captain S'ill even quite rightfully explained to me to compensate, I was unable to speak with the communications officer to get their view on how they found the systems aboard the ship, though as there had been no further issues other than those noted below, I had my doubts it would've proved enlightening.
o -Internal comms: Due to an unexpected altercation between the housing shipyard and the 'Heimdall, the ship's internal communications channels had to undergo a default reset to correct minor errors that had been popping up as a result of the shipyard exchange. Since this correction, it's to note there have been no further fault occurrences since then, with the ships internal band working as expected. The ship houses two means of communication between crew members and ship compartments - both used throughout most vessels - Commbadges can be used as standard to reach any member of the crew as predicted, however as a fail safe should commbadges easily fall prey to jamming signals, consoles throughout the ship can be locked and used as a means of secure communication - though this can also be used during conversations of an extended length, their initial fail safe purpose seems the most useful. When the ship moves to a red alert status, all systems transform into voice recognition commands, to ensure that no intruders are able to pass through any fire walls in place to protect the key computer systems. Sadly, the crew have yet had a chance to test this fallback though with efforts placed into it, I doubt there should be any trouble with it.
o -External comms: Standard external hails/communications along with subspace links have all been reported without a hitch during the vessels current operating cycle. There has been one reported instance of an Orion vessel attempting to breach the security of the communication systems, however dude to the sophisticated fall-backs and other defense programs, they were unsuccessfully able to progress further - though Captain S'ill noted this might have been down to their attention being on defending their vessel, as the Orion's had already suffered damage to their engines and boarding parties. There stands a secondary circuit fallback procedure should the vessel ever actually be compromised, however it's yet to have been field tested other than during standard maintenance checks. The main hull of the vessel, along with the chevron sections own beacon, can reach up to roughly 6 sector blocks. It's pleasing to note that during an emergency separation, nothing in terms of emergency communications is lost when transferring power to the chevron section. Due to it's smaller power source, the Aquarius escort assigned to the 'Heimdall has more of a limited communications range, reaching up to it's designed five light year radius.
o -Deflector - Output: 120% - The vessels Chief Engineering, Lieutenant Exi, explained that the Deflector Array could be held at it's maximum potential for a good three hours, before the system will begin to overheat and cause serious damage to the equipment connected to it, fundamentally crippling the ship should it occur. Due to this theoretical problem, the heat levels and temperature of surrounding conduits is heavily monitored and maintained at a suitable working field level.
o -Weapons station: Due to the ship being of the Operations Sub-Class, the ship often finds itself with power and no where to divert it to. Weapons can reach a constant level of 150% with room still to spare should the combat system require it, though as the Captain explained, any further and the ship could risk damage to it's own phaser arrays, even if the energy discharged could melt through hull armour - particular use was expressed should the vessel ever encounter a Borg Octahedron. The ship is loaded with an impressive compliment of weapons, such as Antiproton array emitters, and transphasic torpedo's for general use, with a launcher tailored to the cluster torpedo compliment based on Breen design, positioned aft of the ship.

o -Staffing: Captain S'ill explained that Doctors, and other senior medical staff, weren't a problem in numbers, however there is a current lack of nursing staff and trained combat medics. I was pleased to hear the Captain has a training regime open to the crew, to offer a further insight into first aid in the field. I took note that with the shortage of nurses and other medics, this perhaps for the time being is an excellent work around until a more permanent presence can be brought aboard, and even then the skills from the program can be learnt universally.
o -Supplies: The cargo hold aboard the U.S.S. Heimdall has an allocated storage site for medical equipment and general supplies, to which currently the stocks on board appear quite well equipped. The Captain expressed the regard that there hasn't been any shortages of a particular supply as of yet which can always be taken lightly considering the vessel is new out of the fleet yards, however using personal knowledge of the size of the holds and the supplies already aboard, there shows no signs that it should be a concern for at least the next 6 months. The Chief Medical Officer of the 'Heimdall apparently runs a tight ship down in medical, being quoted to "rule the ship's bay as the devil does hell". I didn't get chance to meet her, however from the sounds there are a couple of officers aboard the station I'm confident she'd get along well with if that were the case.
