A wall separates the past from the present.
Its made of cobbled stone
and stands tall as any man ever did.
Its construction projects pride.
Vines have grown
along it's rough and bumpy surface,
They started on the side that faces the past
and have grown through holes into the present.
One needs the other.
The wall protects the vines
and the vines hold the wall together.
its begun to ruin in old age.
For years it's stood as both protector and obstacle.
Initially blocking the growth into time,
and then relenting to allow it.
Its yet to be seen which vines will still stand once the wall falls.
