BIOGRAPHICAL AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
Vincent A. VanDeer born in a family of doctor, scientists and Starfleet Officer. He decides to embark on a ship after the end of the secondary school, avoiding the university and facing the protests of the mother, but not of the father. He decides to enter in the Engineering Section, following his passion for the field of mechanic. During his time aboard the USS Canary Wolf, he took a specialization in piloting.
After two year as chief, with the role of leader of a repair team, the captain of the ship Micael De Carderas proposes Vincent and two other chiefs for a one-year officer course. He is promoted to ensign and assigned to the USS Santiago, where he meet his future wife, Rebecca Wilson. He will marry the woman one year after and divorce after two years of marriage without children. During his years as officer aboard the USS Santiago and the USS Zama, he is rewarded with several medals and merit awards for his work as engineer. He maintains few friendly relationships with other members of the crew or, in general, with people. A lonely person, prefers to establish few but durable relationships.
He spend three years helping in the development of the new Presidio Class. For one of the first ships of the line, the future USS Carthago, he and his team decide to adopt some special implementations to assure to the vessel more freedom to operate alone and in long-term operations. He assumes the control of the ship just in time to participate to the Iconian Conflict. After the end of the war, the Carthago become the center of several task forces involved in the hunt of pirates and smugglers not far from the Cardassia Sector and in the Romulus Sector. During this years he restarts to play the violin, an old passion of the captain and organizes aboard the ship a classical quarter with three of his command officers. He also spend a few of his free time aboard the Peregrine Fighters embarked on the ship. Another passion of the captain is old mechanical works. He likes, especially, the old clocks from various civilizations around the galaxy. He has a little laboratory in his cabin and, sometimes, reproduce in the holo-simulator an old laboratory of Prague, XIX century. He spends most of his free time constructing little watchers.
Shorter after his assignment to the 38th Fleet, he is assigned as captain of the USS Tyre, a Promtheus-escort class, refitted as the most recent standard of Starfleet. It's not really clear the reasons behind the new assignment, but, probably, the Carthago was chosen to receive a new series of upgrade that required the presence of the ship in the Utopia Planitia Yards.
