Argo is going to Risa for summer shore leave! A neighboring fleet is temporarily picking up a large portion of the 38th’s duties, and command has booked a Risian resort for the fleet’s personnel. Known workaholics in attendance will be forced to submit to unscheduled PADD checks to ensure reading material is all leisurely.

As usual when RPing on public maps, we have some extra things to consider. First and foremost, characters must be Level 10 in-game to access the Risa Summer Resort map. Once you’re there, see the image below for the location of our IC resort and default RP venue. It’s a common spot for RP and we’ve been using it every summer for years, so please try to use local/emotes as usual and be open to non-fleet RPers walking up and interacting.

Instances may also be an issue. You can see which you’re in by looking at the number above the minimap, and change your current instance by clicking on it. Please try to start RP in the same instance as others. Don’t be afraid to ask where people are, or ask them to swap if it’s full. On the flipside, if you’re in a full instance and others can’t get in, consider moving to a different one and resuming your RP there. This may happen frequently, so we’re asking everyone to normalize instance-hopping for inclusiveness!

Bonus for initiates, participating in any of these events can be counted as one of your RP Tasks needed for promotion.

Tonight’s event will have participants serving as assets in a Starfleet Intelligence operation with the goal of bankrupting an Orion Syndicate operative known as “La Griffe”. The target will be playing in a poker tournament called “Casino Risien”, so SFI is covering the entrance fees for its players in the hope that one of them will win the tournament and leave La Griffe empty-handed.

If you are interested in playing, join the RP channel #153-casino-risien (Discord) and attend the briefing Mohadeb is holding. The briefing will start at gamma+2 and then we’ll get the poker game started shortly after. To participate in the poker game, you will also need to join the #IC-activities voice channel and the “Poker Night” activity taking place there. (No information or RP will be conducted via voice chat, and you may feel free to mute and/or deafen yourself after joining the channel.) Once in the activity, click the “Join table” button to be seated and wait for the game to start. The faster we can all get through those steps, the sooner the game can begin.
