14 Jun: The Barrows, part 2

The Orion Space Navy and KDF away team are fighting their way through the strange assailants, trying to reach the survivors of the OSN excavation team...

--

When: Sunday, Jun 14, Alpha-1

Audience: Klingon and allies

Event type: Social RP

Starting point: Starship bridge

OOC point of contact: @anncarise
Spoiler: Mission logShow
Istar@anncarise | After receiving a request for assistance from Tabadi Kayd concerning the loss of contact with an expedition team in one of the ancient ruins tied to the aliens who built the Scryer's station, -

Istar@anncarise - the nearest task force members enter the ruins to investigate. While doing so, they are unexpectedly overwhelmed with strange, cybernetic-skeletal beings, who have forced them deeper inside...

Istar@anncarise | Not all has gone wrong, however, as they seem to have found the survivors of the expedition and previous rescue team...

Istar@anncarise | The team reaches a door blocking their way once again, but this time it slides open as they approach. Three large Orion males greet them on the other side.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Well hello there.

Istar@anncarise | The central one, who Lorri recognizes as wearing the armour of a Ukto Delbaj, one of the ground officers of the OSN, speaks, "Welcome to our little camp here."

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "Home sweet home, eh? What's the situation?"

Istar@anncarise | Delbaj: "It's bad, but we're staying alive for now. Sorry we don't have much to offer you Tabadi, but stock up on whatever you need."

Istar@anncarise | He waves them deeper into the part of the ruins they have apparently barricaded themselves into, the two other males staying by the door and closing it.

Istar@anncarise | Delbaj: "I'm Delbaj Mazze. I lead the team Kayd sent down here to investigate, or what's left of it."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Well, a bit of a respite from skeleborgs is more than welcome. Did you figure out what ticked them off?

Istar@anncarise | Delbaj: "Me? I just shoot them wherever their skulls pop up. The girls are working on it, though."

Istar@anncarise | They pass by what seem to be two makeshift turrets rigged together from disruptor rifles on stands that were likely made to support scientific instruments instead.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: So who should be in charge here?+

Istar@anncarise | They step into a larger area where consoles and equipment have been set up across the room. There are even some tables and chairs that a few Orions are gathered around, but they seem to be part -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - of the ruin, cleaned up but with signs of wear very visible on them.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: We must figure out how to shut down these skeleborgs. This ruin is so big, there could be thousands of them.

Istar@anncarise | A pair of Orion females approach them, and one of them wearing a regular shipboard Delbaj's uniform speaks, "I'm Delbaj Sesunna. You wanted to met who's in charge? I'm the highest ranking -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - officer here, but Mazze deals with most of the tactical stuff."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna motions to the other female, "Technically, the expedition is Tavi's. She's the leading archaelogist here."

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "Well circumstances aside, it is a pleasure to meet you both"

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "Likewise. Come, have a seat and we'll brief you on what we know so far."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Arright.

Sadia@gulremal sits in a chair.

Istar@anncarise | Mazze: "This place is safe, for now. The things don't know we're here, and my boys are out running patrol and leading them off to keep us secret as long as we can."

Egzo@HF_Mudd sits in a chair.

Istar@anncarise | Mazze: "Can't keep it up forever, though. Already lost two men on these diversion runs, and that's not counting the three who didn't make it to the camp."

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "So what do we know so far? Need some facts on the ground here"

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Yeah, their numbers seems practically limitless.

Istar@anncarise opts to remain standing behind Lorri, still maintaining an alert vigil.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Say, we planning on evac or is there a way to shut these skeleborgs down, like some kind of security station deeper in the ruin?

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "We don't think they're actually infinite or creating more somehow, but the numbers are definitely too high to deal with."

Istar@anncarise | Mazze: "Evac's not an option. Too much ruin to get through and too many of those things to intercept us between here and the exit."

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "Here's what we know so far. Most of these things don't seem to be built for combat. In fact, I don't think they were 'built' exactly."

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "We can't connect to most of the computers down here, it just keeps giving us a virus error message. But we've still managed to learn plenty from other sources of information, and -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - as we often have to resort to in archaeology, educated guesswork."

Egzo@HF_Mudd nods, listening closely.

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "We found the same virus when we tried to access one of your consoles further back"

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "That's why Kayd sent me in. I'm one of her cyber specialists, not an archaeologist."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "Unfortunately we ran into the skeletons not long after I got down here, so I've been spending more time trying to stay alive than actually figuring out this malicious code."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "We have a theory, though, but I'll let Tavi explain what she found first."

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "With it presenting our biggest mystery at present, I would surmise that this code is protecting the key to controlling these creatures" she looks to Tavi, "Theories are good" she smiles

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna smiles back, "That's what we're thinking too. I suppose that's why you're Tabadi, you reached that conclusion fast."

Istar@anncarise | Tavi nods, "I'll spare you the details, but in short, we think these skeletons were cyborgs in life."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: How come they are still able to operate without organic parts?

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "From what we've learned of their culture, they were obsessed with cybernetic modification. They'd swap out entire body parts for improved ones, use all sorts of implants to give them an -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - edge in life. But they were also spiritual, or at least we think they were. Some cultures bury their dead, others cremate them, or mummify them."

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "Sounds kind of like the Olelians"

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "These aliens? They resurrected them. I have no idea if their minds were actually intact, if they had some AI simulated intelligence, or they just made the bodies move. But apparently -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - they would visit the tombs of their family and their ancestors, and they would get up and move around."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna nods to Lorri, "A lot like the Olelians, except the ones here follow some kind of ancestor worship, and turn their dead into abominations."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: That sounds so morbid.

Egzo@HF_Mudd sits in a chair.

[Local] Egzo@HF_Mudd: "Yeah, that's messed up."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Never heard about these Olelians, tho.

Istar@anncarise | Tavi nods, "It is, to our culture at least. But for them, this was normal. And from what we know these raised skeletons weren't usually dangerous."

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "There were special tomb guardians that attacked trespassers, but they're not supposed to be a threat if you don't disturb the burials without permission."

Istar@anncarise | Mazze nods, "Those are the tougher ones with the bigger guns."

Egzo@HF_Mudd grunts, "Fun."

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "They were meant to watch over the tombs, but now it looks like they're all working together as one big undead army."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "That's where I suspect the virus comes in."

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "Stands to reason. So what can we do to help you crack it?"

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Yeah, what's with that virus stuff we encountered earlier? Some kind of last defense setup?

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna shakes her head at Bara's comment, "I don't think so, but it's just a theory at the moment. I think someone released the virus and messed with some IFF system in the skeletons. Flipped -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - a switch and set them all to aggressive mode, if this was a holosim. That's why they're all trying to kill us, even the ones that aren't armed and meant to protect the tombs."

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "Stinks of the Scryer to me"

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Hmmm, our old pal Scryer?

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "I think so. We believe the cybernetic tech in those skeletons are the ones the Scryer are using for his own people."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: So, can you remove this virus?

[Local] Lorri@crystyll: "But how does that help us crack this virus? If only we had access to the Thana I could just bring down my spook. He probably helped write the damned virus"

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "I don't think the Scryer Network wrote the virus. It's like nothing I've seen before. I think they're using it, but...it came from somewhere else. Maybe a rival faction among the -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - aliens who built the ruin or something. That's why it's taking so long to decipher."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "I don't suppose any of you are cyberwarfare experts?"

Lorri@crystyll shakes her head, "You already know the Circle only has one, and she's your boss"

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: The only code I know is on the free dinner coupons. *shrugs* Sorry.

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna chuckles, "And your friends look like they're more Delbaj Mazze's kind of people."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "Well, fortunately, that's exactly more of what we need. It would be nice to have someone to help with the code, but..."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Oh, Egzo knows his way around machinery. And I don't think about shooting the things.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *just about

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "I think it would help a lot if we had one of those skeletons' processors. They're usually somewhere in the head, and if I had one of those, I might be able to see what exactly the -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - code affecting the skeletons are."

Istar@anncarise | Mazze: "Problem is, if you don't fry the processor, they don't die."

Egzo@HF_Mudd shrugs. "Pin 'em, crack the skull, pull the processor."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Sooo...we need to hunt for skeleborg, take it's head off without damaging it?

Istar@anncarise | Mazze nods to Egzo, "Better if you can do that. My Ukto aren't tech experts, they tried carrying back a head but it's hard enough getting away from a swarm of those things without worrying -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - about grabbing something."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna nods, "All I need is a processor chip, intact."

[Team] Sadia@gulremal: sorry if I'm bit slow, landlord came to install the new washing machine and take the old one

[Team] Istar@anncarise: no worries!

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Well, we'll have to ambush an skeleborg patrol, then. Any processor is fine?

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "Any is good, as long as it's not fried and I can still connect to it."

Istar@anncarise | Mazze: "These things aren't Borg, at least. You don't have to worry about getting turned or anything. But trying to get a chip intact when they're trying to swarm you is still no easy task."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Did you manage to map this part of the ruin? Any tools you can provide to assist against these things?

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: I was thinking if we could maybe find some isolated units, take em out quick.

Istar@anncarise | Tavi takes out a datapad and slides it across to Bara, "This is our updated map, after we made it in here and found more parts of the ruins. It's not complete, but it should help."

Egzo@HF_Mudd nods. Maps are good.

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "If you can get me that processor chip, I can narrow down whatever's making the skeletons go berserk a lot faster. Hopefully before they find us."

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "We know how to locate those things on sensors now. Shouldn't be too hard hunting one down."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: I have a feeling with the virus, we won't find them isolated but always in groups. But we should try, at least.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Imma restock on weapon battery charges and grenades, if some are available.

Istar@anncarise | Mazze nods, "We got some our team brought down," he points to a corner. "Take whatever you need."

Istar@anncarise steps over, restocking her weapons as well.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: *checks spare equipment* Okay, how do we go about this?

Egzo@HF_Mudd grabs a spare for his pulsewave, then slings it again and draws his tegolar.

Istar@anncarise glances to Egzo as she picks some batteries, "Not to give you the dirty work, but...you're probably most qualified to get that chip out, right?"

Egzo@HF_Mudd nods.

[Local] Egzo@HF_Mudd: "Figure we take out most, knock one down... I chop through the spine and whatever they're usin' for a systems trunk with this."

Egzo@HF_Mudd hefts his jagged blade. "Might take a few swings."

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "Sounds like a plan to me."

[Local] Egzo@HF_Mudd: "Then we grab the goods and run like hell. Done that lotsa times."

Istar@anncarise nods, "Ready when you are, then!"

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Let's get ourselves some bones.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: *checks the map* We should move a bit away from this place, find a nice camping spot unless skellies find us first. When our tricorders detect a group, I can lure them to a kill spot?

Egzo@HF_Mudd nods.

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "Better to fight 'em on our terms, but if we run into 'em first, might as well try and get what we need there."

Lorri@crystyll finishes reading up on various PADD's and pushes to her feet with a sigh, resided to the fact that she must get her hands dirty again

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Use the 'nades only if it gets too hot.

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "Yeah, they're not gonna do a good job of keeping things intact."

Istar@anncarise | The team makes their way out of the forward camp and through the dark ancient hallways...

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Aha I still have a flashlight

Istar@anncarise | They detect a few signs of the cybernetic creatures in the distance, but are still relatively close to the camp.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *Bara keeps going, trying to put some distance before finding a nice place for ambush...*

Istar@anncarise | Avoiding running into them is not too difficult now that they know what to look for on sensors, though eventually they detect a group of sixteen moving in front of them. It may be possible to -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - find a way around without alerting them, but they're far enough from the camp to deal with them without leading any to the camp's location, and sixteen isn't the largest group they've seen so far...

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Hmmm, we could take these guys on. Thin the herd a bit with guns, then close in to grab one's proc?

Egzo@HF_Mudd nods. "Leave a couple un-shot."

[Team] Istar@anncarise: I can't believe I didn't find this for last week but

[Team] Istar@anncarise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEPxs6WNTP0

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: *checks the map* Hmmm if we take positions here...and here...we could get them in the crossfire.

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Ruins ambience!

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: You guys take the positions, I'll lure them in.

Istar@anncarise nods, moving over to take one of the positions and drawing her pistols.

Lorri@crystyll takes position as well

[Team] Istar@anncarise: and yes this part is literally a fetch quest but I think it works well in the plot! hehe

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *As they take the positions, Bara moves in front of the team towards the skelegroup*

Istar@anncarise - ROUND ONE -

Istar@anncarise - BARA'S TURN -

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: "Chaarge! Take it skellies!" *Bara turns around the corner, you can hear a couple of antiproton bursts, then Bara rushes back in, Han Solo style*

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Hahaha

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Roll please!

[Emotes] Sadia@gulremal: rolls 41 (1-100)

[Team] Sadia@gulremal: they might not be much, but 16 is 16

Istar@anncarise | Bara takes out one of the skeletons and has the rest chasing her back to the crossfire zone.

Istar@anncarise - EGZO'S TURN -

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *thumbs up to the rest of the group as she moves past to the backup position*

Istar@anncarise | Fifteen skeletons chase after Bara, a few of them with ranged weapons cybernetically attached to their arms...

Egzo@HF_Mudd has his sword drawn and waits for an opening.

Istar@anncarise | Luckily, only two seem to be the larger tomb guardian type, and both are wielding rifles unlike the one with the minigun last time.

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: Holding action.

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Alrighty!

Istar@anncarise - LORRI'S TURN -

Lorri@crystyll sprays a flurry of bolts across the oncoming pack

[Emotes] Lorri@crystyll: rolls 70 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | Lorri's bolts take out three of the smaller ones that charge forward!

Istar@anncarise - ISTAR'S TURN -

Istar@anncarise also loosens a volley to thin the attackers, but tries to aim low to cripple them so they might be easier for Egzo to extract a chip from.

[Emotes] Istar@anncarise: rolls 68 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise takes out the knee of one skeleton and shatters another at the hips, causing both to drop and start crawling towards the group, easy targets for Egzo once they get close enough...

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Gonna go on to next round for now and let Egzo act once they're close!

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: *nods*

Istar@anncarise - ROUND TWO -

Istar@anncarise | The two guardian skeletons stay back, taking cover behind pillars as they return fire, seemingly having more intelligent behaviour.

Istar@anncarise | Eight small ones continue to charge in, along with the two crawling ones whose movement can't be called a charge anymore.

Istar@anncarise - BARA'S TURN -

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *Bara stops, turns around, drops to one knee and fires an aimed burst of fire into the leag area of the incoming horde*

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *leg

[Emotes] Sadia@gulremal: rolls 70 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | Bara cripples three more incoming skeletons!

Istar@anncarise - LORRI'S TURN -

Lorri@crystyll fires again, same as before

Lorri@crystyll takes position as well

[Emotes] Lorri@crystyll: rolls 96 (1-100)

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: Nice one.

Istar@anncarise | Lorri's volley takes out the remaining little skeletons who are charging!

Istar@anncarise | The first of the five crawling skeletons get close to Egzo's position...

Istar@anncarise - EGZO'S TURN -

Egzo@HF_Mudd picks out one of the crawlers, then steps over with grim purpose and tries to plant a boot on its spine.

[Emotes] Egzo@HF_Mudd: rolls 84 (1-100)

Egzo@HF_Mudd chops downward. Then a couple more times, if the skull (and wires) doesn't come off.

Istar@anncarise | The crawler squirms under Egzo's boot, but he manages to pin it long enough to hack off its skull, causing the rest of its body to go limp.

Istar@anncarise - ISTAR'S TURN -

Istar@anncarise opens fire at the two guardians, trying to cover for Egzo while he does his thing.

[Emotes] Istar@anncarise: rolls 96 (1-100)

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: also nice!

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: covering fire much appreciated :)

Istar@anncarise manages to land several hits on one of the guardians, depleting its shields and forcing both into cover.

Istar@anncarise - ROUND THREE -

Istar@anncarise | Four of the crawlers still advance, while the guardians are pinned down by Istar's fire for the moment.

Istar@anncarise - BARA'S TURN -

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *seeing that the Egzo already has one skull, and guardians being suppressed for a bit, Bara focuses her fire on the remaining crawlers, trying to thin the numbers a bit*

[Emotes] Sadia@gulremal: rolls 55 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | Bara manages to take out two of the crawlers.

Istar@anncarise | One of them takes a hit from Bara, but continues onward, grabbing Egzo's ankle with a hand containing both bone and metal.

Istar@anncarise - EGZO'S TURN -

Egzo@HF_Mudd bends down and scoops up the old skull without a trace of squeamishness. "Got one! We want a spare?"

[Team] Sadia@gulremal: "Depends, is that Yorrick?"

Egzo@HF_Mudd shoves it in the sample bag he borrowed from the dig crew.

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "Might be best in case something's broken about the first chip!"

Egzo@HF_Mudd nods and looks for another.

[Team] Istar@anncarise: There is one trying to grab Egzo right now!

Egzo@HF_Mudd steps out of the way of a swinging bony claw. "Keep me covered!"

Egzo@HF_Mudd hacks.

[Emotes] Egzo@HF_Mudd: rolls 70 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | This one takes a little longer, but subduing the little crawling ones aren't very hard. It's just a lot of battering away at the metal-wire-bone fusion of a spine...

Istar@anncarise - LORRI'S TURN -

Istar@anncarise | One of the crawlers continues moving freely, while the guardians take the occasional potshot from behind their cover.

Lorri@crystyll focuses on the pinned down guardians, aiming for environmentals to catch them with if any are there

[Emotes] Lorri@crystyll: rolls 58 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | There is a wall panel of some sort, though it seems to be without power and shooting it does nothing. Lorri has more luck with a broken ceiling piece, which crashes down on the now -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - shieldless skeleton and pins it to the ground.

Istar@anncarise - ISTAR'S TURN -

Istar@anncarise focuses fire on the last tomb guardian.

[Emotes] Istar@anncarise: rolls 21 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | The last guardian's shields absorb the shots as it steps out, deciding to risk it and return fire!

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Roll please Egzo!

[Emotes] Egzo@HF_Mudd: rolls 15 (1-100)

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: rerollig that :p

[Team] Istar@anncarise: hehe

[Emotes] Egzo@HF_Mudd: rolls 54 (1-100)

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: if that's enough to miss, can I pose it?

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Go ahead!

Egzo@HF_Mudd ducks the incoming fire as he retrieves the second head. "Hey! Watch it!"

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "Sorry! It just jumped out and ate up my shots!"

Istar@anncarise - ROUND FOUR -

Istar@anncarise - BARA'S TURN -

[Team] Istar@anncarise: One guardian is shooting, one is pinned down and there's one last crawler

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: *Bara rushes forward, uses crouched Egzo as a jump board as she zones in onto the guardian*

[Emotes] Sadia@gulremal: rolls 39 (1-100)

Egzo@HF_Mudd oofs as HE gets stepped on.

[Team] Istar@anncarise: hahaha

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Is that a melee attack or just getting closer to the guardian?

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: charge + leaping attack, I think.

[Team] Sadia@gulremal: hmmm, to reroll or not to re roll, she's jumped and plans to go into slide as she keeps firing

[Team] Sadia@gulremal: depends on the distance

[Team] Sadia@gulremal: if enemy is more than 10 feet away from egzo, she's jumpin and shooting as she drops into slide

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Ahh I think that works better

[Team] Istar@anncarise: and your call for reroll!

[Emotes] Sadia@gulremal: rolls 76 (1-100)

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: with /style/

Istar@anncarise | Bara's dramatic move catches the guardian unaware, and her shots deplete its shields, a few of them punching holes through its armoured skeletal form!

Istar@anncarise | It remains stubbornly standing, trying to fire back though the damage seems to have affected its accuracy.

Istar@anncarise - EGZO'S TURN -

Istar@anncarise | One more crawler moves towards Egzo.

Egzo@HF_Mudd retreats, with 'samples' enbagged, keeping the last one at bay with swings of his tegolar.

[Emotes] Egzo@HF_Mudd: rolls 18 (1-100)

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: bad roll, but I'm just backing up. not doing anything fancy.

Istar@anncarise | The crawler continues advancing, close enough for the tegolar to hit it a few times. It doesn't do much without pinning the skeleton down and hacking at it, but Egzo manages to move away faster -

[Local] Istar@anncarise: - than the thing can crawl anyways.

Istar@anncarise - LORRI'S TURN -

Lorri@crystyll adds both her pistols to the onslaught of the remaining guardian

[Emotes] Lorri@crystyll: rolls 85 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | The last guardian is finished off by Lorri's shots, collapsing to the ground and dropping its rifle!

Istar@anncarise - ISTAR'S TURN -

Istar@anncarise uses her pistols to finish off the last crawler, and then the pinned tomb guardian.

[Emotes] Istar@anncarise: rolls 42 (1-100)

Istar@anncarise | The crawler is quickly taken down. The tomb guardian takes a few shots but manages to push the ceiling plate off itself and dash towards the group on all fours!

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Roll for killshot!

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Whoever gets highest takes it out

[Team] Istar@anncarise: This is more of those cinematic, quicktime things hehe

[Emotes] Lorri@crystyll: rolls 18 (1-100)

[Emotes] Istar@anncarise: rolls 97 (1-100)

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Oh keelah

[Emotes] Sadia@gulremal: rolls 89 (1-100)

[Team] Istar@anncarise: I should've just killed it with my emote

[Team] Istar@anncarise: unless Egzo does really well

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: retcon it, I'm not gonna roll against that :)

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: I'm focused on backing up with the prize.

[Team] Istar@anncarise: hehe true

[Team] Egzo@HF_Mudd: maybe have Bara get in a shot too.

[Team] Istar@anncarise: Oooh yeh

Istar@anncarise | The damaged and previously pinned guardian doesn't stand much of a chance making it through the hail of energy. One of Bara's shots disables its leg while Istar shoots out an arm, and it -

Istar@anncarise - crumples to the ground in front of Istar, where she finishes it off with a headshot.

Istar@anncarise | As the shooting dies down, they hear more noises in the distance...

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "We got what we came for. Time to go!"

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: *finishes her slide* That's how you do it. *gets up, slings her gun and picks up the rifle that the guardian dropped* Nice shooty.

Egzo@HF_Mudd needs no encouragement.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: *scans the rifle with her trico for trackers as she rejoins the others*

Istar@anncarise | The team quickly makes their way back where they came from and reaches the Orion camp.

Istar@anncarise | Once again, Mazze leads them into the camp where Sesunna and Tavi greets them.

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "You're back! I hope that means good news?"

Egzo@HF_Mudd sets the sample bag on the table. "Got our chip and a spare, just in case. Like they say, two heads're better'n one?"

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "Perfect! Let me plug them in and get to work."

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna takes the sample bag and starts doing her thing.

Istar@anncarise | Tavi: "Make yourself comfortable. You deserve some rest after risking your necks to...cut skeleton necks."

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Yep! Gotta check the new shootie, might have some fun with this one...

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "Not a bad souvenir. If they can get dead bones walking, their tech's probably pretty neat."

Egzo@HF_Mudd is inspecting his tegolar's edge for damage, in fact. Doesn't look like anything that won't wait until he gets back to the ship and a proper sharpening tool...

Egzo@HF_Mudd shrugs and sheathes it again.

[Local] Sadia@gulremal: Bara: Gonna be much more of these once we disable them all.

[Local] Istar@anncarise: "Might be worth scavenging. Artifacts /and/ guns, just fitting one of the categories fetches a high enough price already on the market."

Istar@anncarise | Meanwhile, Sesunna extracts and plugs in one of the chips, typing on her console for a minute before stopping and turning to Lorri.

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "Tabadi, we have a problem..."

Lorri@crystyll looks over, "Oh?"

Istar@anncarise | Sesunna: "They know where we are."
