[Local]T’Vek of Vulcan@anncaris:“Though the Nimbus Trade Consortium have posted a new bounty for Kinshaya ships. 10 million for the battleship and 5 per cruiser. They are no doubt displeased by the rather heavy-handed interruption.”

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Kinshayan ships are tough. Their shields are mediocre, but their armor plating is heavy and full-circle beam arrays give their weapons full 360 degree cover.

Egzo@HF_Mud mutters, “Hope this don’t turn out t’ be real dumb.” Then, louder: “Engage cloak… then bring us about, angle us in on that cruiser.”

Egzo@HF_Mud observes to the others, “Ain’t never got in a scrap with a eaglehead before.”

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Two Kinshayan cruisers are moving in to assist their batteship, but starport activates their multiple tractor beams in attempts to slow them down. Cruisers start shooting at the tractor beam emitters, taking out half of them.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Orion Corsair cruiser is running interference for Snap Dragon, taking heavy fire while Snap Dragon, flanked by two nausicaan ships, makes an attack run, taking down most of the battleship’s shields.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Starport refocuses fire on Cruiser 1, and puts more power in still active tractor beams to compensate. Point defense turrets drop the Cruiser 1 shields down to 20%, and cruisers are still slowed.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:Shlaak: Underssstood. moves to another console, and Spade nods thankfully as he quickly starts familiarizing himself with the interface

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Cruiser 1 returns fire on the Hag’lhr, its long beams missing by the tiniest margin.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Cruiser 2 keeps firing on the tractor beam emitters, freeing Cruiser 1 from their hold.

Egzo@HF_Mud doesn’t have to tell Rritt to bring the ship around for another run on the cruiser, or to dodge the return fire; for now, he just sits and watches the battle unfold, though his body is tense as a spring.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Corsair cruiser is doing it’s best to stay in the fight, turning in it’s axis to present fresh shield facing to the enemy.

Unfortunately, one of the nausicaan destroyers takes a heavy hit from another beam array, and break formation, listing to port…

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Cruiser 2 starts taking its attackers seriously, it’s main and 2 remaining secondary beams spray across Morakos’ flight path. Morakos evades most of the shots but one scores a hit and drops Morakos’ shields to 60%.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Corsair cruiser is ravaged by the Kinshaya battleship’s fire and starts limping out of the engagement, helping the almost disabled nausicaan destroyer along.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Snap Dragon and remaining nausicaan destroyer continue the attack, and score another couple of hits, disabling two secondary beam arrays.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Starport keeps Cruiser 2 in grip with the tractor beams, while its turrets keep firing on Cruiser 1; unfortunately, their fire was too weak to breach enemy armor plating.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:Two cruisers, despite all the damage, keep firing with remaining secondary beam arrays. However, their fire is more sluggish and less accurate, and both Hag’lhr and Morakos easily evade the attacks.

Egzo@HF_Mud notices the change, and offers a “not bad” to their high-value passenger. Then, once more to his regular crew: “Finish it.”

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Starport keeps holding the cruiser 2 in tight hold while peppering Cruiser 1 with fire, this time scoring a hit through the weakened spot and taking it’s engines down.

[Local]Nadum@gulrema:<FX> Battleship keeps firing, its beams overwhelming the second nausicaan destroyer. Snap Dragon evades the explosion and runs close to the battleship, dropping a net of quantum mines that attach to the ship and blow a sizeable hole in its armor plating.

One shot passes through, ripping an chunk of hull, but battleship’s thrusters rotate the ship with unexpected speed, so rest of the hits land on what remains of the heavy armor plating, ripping some chunks from it.
