The USS Tykera is one of several ships assigned to spearhead Operation Black Box in the field. As you know ‘Black Box’ is the first stage in mapping and formalising this new frontier region of unexplored space under the Tupaia Initiative.
From the ship’s advanced stellar-cartography laboratories, Captain Kyhid Zohl and crew will begin the meticulous process of establishing the sector boundaries that will one day anchor navigation charts, relay networks, and future operations. But they will need a lot of help.
Argo fleet Cartographic and Operations divisions have been put on notice to assign any available supporting vessels and personnel to assist Captain Zohl in establishing this initial cartographic baseline for the new sectors. Why Zohl? Rumour has it, Captian Zohl drew the short straw at the last Fleet Assembly.
The work will involve pure science… gravitational baselines, spectral readings, topological mapping, spatial plotting and geometric analysis… but the ‘extents’ of new frontiers have a habit of not revealing themselves quite so easily. Some stellar phenomena refuse ‘tidy’ categorisation, and the laws that govern familiar space may be found to not hold so neatly here as one might have reasonably anticipated.
This will be a multi-part effort over several weeks, each step will delve deeper into what lies just beyond the edge of the known.

Potential room for guest observers/experts/civilians where it can be made relevant; reply below to express such interest or check. Ideally we won’t end up with a group of all-Vulcans too ((no shade, just a preference for some IDIC)).
RP Format: GM – Structured bridge / lab RP with player interaction and environmental narration. Collaborative science and command decision-making encouraged.

Starting Point: Players will be invited to the Tykera’s bridge at event start.
I intend for this to be the first of a short series of exploration sessions plotting the new frontier sectors under Operation Black Box. These are not intended to be ‘exclusive’ sessions for this purpose, and they do not preclude other parties from tackling the same subject / goal whatsoever. I just want to help the associated RP effort move forward.

Session tone will be RP of an analytical, methodical science and cartographic nature… with room for IC banter and the occasional unsettling anomaly to examine. No combat is envisaged; bring curiosity and good sensor calibration skills
