With his ship seaworthy again, Captain Morton’s making use of his last weekend dossing aboard DS13 to host his very first Pop Trivia Knowledge-anza. Get your orders in with Swifty, get Akbar on the grille, but most importantly take your seats in the Event Horizon Lounge and settle in for an evening of historical, trival and outright whacky general knowledge. Prize’s for first, second and third place along with bonus’ along the way, not an evening to be missed.

Hallo! This is purely for some fun and another excuse to get your characters socialising, just with some minor competitive edge, after the eventful last few months the fleet have experienced. We’ll have five rounds, as of yet to be decided, all IC-tailored with some ‘pop culture’ trivia thrown into the mix in a canonicly-friendly way for those of us not alive in the 25th Century.

There’s a few ways we can play this, if anyone is interested please pop an entry down below, it might not be everyone’s cup of tea so I won’t be offended. If you’d like to enter as a small team, pop your team name down too! If you’d like any more information shoot me a message but it should all be simple with more information to follow the evening before the quiz, thanks!

Could I grab a head count for anyone interested in joining in? Any teams? I know it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but just so I could get an idea on how long to make it.

I’m actually really glad you asked that, thanks. It’s a trivia night, classic pub quiz! We’ll have a number of rounds based on the number of participants/teams, with each round having 10 questions of some description. Each round is themed, and teams will have an answer sheet to write out their answers. Most points at the end for correct answers, wins™.

This quiz has been written to slide straight into our IC setting however there are rounds themed around our OOC history. With this in mind, the main “mechanic” of this event will be strictly down to you. If you don’t know an answer, but your character absolutely should, there will be a dice roll (afterall, even if we know something, we can easily forget when put on the spot). Likewise, if YOU know the answer, but your character doesn’t, well it’s up to you. This is just a social event, so there shouldn’t be any pressure and it’s primary use is to get characters interacting new and old alike, but I’ve tried to make the questions a bit of fun and if you or your characters don’t know the answer, a guess shouldn’t be too difficult.

My main question would be, Discord or In-Game?
-Discord for ease, however this would be a live event and would flow as if everyone present were taking part in the event in-game.

-In game for setting and character, my bonus thought here would be, for any teams, you could use team chat as to do a whisper to your team and discuss the answers, rather than individual tells. Of course this applies if you have more than two people, but a thought I had anyway.

The quiz for further detail will be explained ICly via the quizmaster, but it’s all fairly straight forward and between team taunting and banter is encouraged, so get shouting across tables.

Think I would prefer in game by a little bit, but would be okay with discord if more like that or if it helps anyone attend who can’t otherwise.
