Mission Summary
On Stardate 95637.22, Starfleet Flotilla under the direction of Commander Beylara Ailes departed for exploratory mission in POI-D-3754 Star System.
Mission Details
A large flotilla of starships departed from Starbase Thirty-eight and accelerated, warp factor six, to the POI-D-3754 Star System.
Upon arrival, three large planetary objects were identified: Two planets were not of particular interest, though the inner-most rocky word did possess a considerable amount of mineral wealth. By my estimations, this world would be useful for the construction of starship hulls.
The gas giant planet, however, was of particular interest. Namely: A M-class moon orbiting the gas giant. This planet also possessed large subterranean cavern systems which were impervious to Starfleet sensors. After analysis of the M-class body, Commander Ailes recommended a physical expedition to the planet. I volunteered myself for this expedition.
This expedition of five beamed on the surface, but was forced to enter the subterranean cave system to avoid a previously undetected ionic storm. While we explored the cavern system, we stumbled across a young alien creature which requested we met its parents. Though I counseled against interacting with the alien, the other Starfleet officers agreed to take us to this creature's city.
The alien city itself was quite vast, with multiple apartment complexes and neighborhoods. The aliens appeared friendly (or as friendly as aliens can be), and allowed us to visit their main governmental compound. When we arrived, we spoke to a Minister Perry, who explained his desire to conduct a parlay between the United Federation of Planets, Romulan Republic, and his government. He also provided us a means of contacting the mothership, the USS William Ockham.
On the William Ockham, a summit, headed by Mister Allistair Nimitz, was held. As I was the only Romulan represent, I took it upon myself to represent the Romilan Republic. The Federation seemed mostly willing to talk, but I had reservations. While expressing a desire to open basic relations with the alien's government, I found the information the alien shared with us unsettling. For starts, it seemed to imply their government was run by some technological leader. Beneath him was some sort of First Minister which, I deem, acted as a leader of the alien civilization. Based on information provided, I assume this "culture" is some sort of technological theocracy.
Closing Remarks
I recommend caution in future dealings with these aliens. It is too early to tell if these aliens are friendly or potentially hostile. Behind their smiles is an unknowable mind, and I fear these creatures might have something to hide. Unlike your so called "Federation", they do not seem to hold a particularly egalitarian set of values. They are theocratic zealots, and as such are potentially highly dangerous.
