As I'm certain we're both in agreement that all necessary steps should be taken to avoid any future misunderstandings, I've dispatched a starship to your system to collect whatever material you may be able to provide that will assist us in making a positive identification and ensuring that the correct individual is returned safely.
Please rest assured that the Federation does not hold this minor confusion against you or your government, nor does Starfleet feel at all inconvenienced by continuing to house the individual in question until verification is complete.

I've just finished speaking with Ministers Candice and Perry. They had a limited amount of information on file for our friend Nit. In fact my envoys managed to gather more information than they had on file. As stated in their message, they wish his return to speak to him. Though I have serious doubts on Minister Candice faithfulness to honor this 'humane mercy' I believe I have found the reason they wish Nit returned. They believe he is part of an organisation that wishes to bring down the current government. Though in essence this isn't a bad thing to want information on, I have...more details not suited to a subspace message on her agenda. I would suggest questioning Nit on this information.
If all fails. I have managed to negotiate for neutral ground to be used for all further Federation/Xedi negotiations. As you are aware the surface of their home world is quite hazardous to the Xedi so we shall be building a structure on the surface as part of the scientific exchange between the Xedi and Elanixi. It will be manned by two of either species with attached living quarters and for the purposes of diplomacy a meeting room. I will endeavour to have further information sent your way.
For the sake of bluntness I realise this may begin treading steps along the Federation Prime directive. I will try to make sure this does not come to pass.

I'll be accompanying the vessel that returns your citizen on the trip to your world, and I'd greatly appreciate the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting when we arrive. I've heard much about you and your people from my officers' reports, and I've been looking forward to getting a chance to visit in person.
