LOCATION Kacam Corporate Authority territories, Kacam homeworld, Itrin sector.
MISSION This report is part of the mission to locate the remaining Etnoziroh-class dreadnought.
OUTCOME The colloquial name for the dreadnought established (“The Beast”). Kacam Corporate Authority does not possess the vessel, but are interested in it for industrial purposes.

NARRATIVE The team arrived disguised as civilian traders in a small vessel. Initial sensor scans revealed an unusually strong Klingon military presence operating under the Kacam Corporate Authority, including multiple escorts, a heavy cruiser in orbit, and Klingon-designed vessels under construction in local shipyards. Material scans detected Trellium-Azedite but no neutronium, suggesting Azedi-related activity but no direct evidence that the Etnoziroh dreadnought itself was present.
Orbital stations were closed to the public, forcing the team to land at the capital spaceport. Kacam was observed to be a heavily polluted, exploitative industrial world with severe environmental degradation and harsh living conditions. The team maintained cover, armed discreetly, and decided that intelligence gathering would best be done in bars and informal gathering places rather than through official channels.
At the spaceport bar “Spacer’s Home,” they mingled with local naval personnel. Through casual conversation, drinks, and deliberate rumor-seeding, Vemok and myself attempted to steer discussion toward reports of a mysterious “ghost ship”. The drunken naval officers eventually confirmed that such a vessel existed and was known locally as “The Beast”. They implied that if Kacam possessed it, it would be used directly by top leadership for resource exploitation rather than assigned to the navy. The officers became hostile once they realized we were likely Federation-affiliated, forcing us to disengage. Despite the tension, the encounter confirmed the dreadnought’s reputation and that it was not openly operated by Kacam’s navy.
Using public mapping and review data, we identified another establishment, “Gronak’s Grub”, notable for recent negative reviews due to disruptive patrons. The bar was run by a Ferengi and frequented by Klingon Imperial Navy personnel. Doctor Greene initiated a quieter, transactional information exchange with the Ferengi bartender, leveraging credits and limited Starfleet intelligence.
From this exchange, several key leads were obtained. The Ferengi confirmed that “The Beast” is believed to be the last surviving Azedi wormhole-capable dreadnought and that its wormhole technology was historically used to harvest neutronium. Kacam’s leadership strongly desires the vessel to regain access to that resource. The Ferengi also relayed rumors that the Ralin, traditionally an agrarian species, may be attempting to mine neutronium. This would be highly unusual and potentially indicative of access to advanced Azedi technology. Additionally, survivors of the destroyed Itrin base were said to have established a new, hidden trading station, possibly connected to neutronium trade and indirectly to the dreadnought’s movements.
In exchange, we provided limited intelligence regarding Federation exploratory activity and the loss of a deep-space probe to as of yet unidentified species, maintaining cover while completing the transaction. Ensign Vemok assessed that while no definitive operator of the dreadnought could be identified, multiple former Azedi successor states were likely competing to locate or control it, keeping their efforts highly compartmentalized.
With no further productive avenues on Kacam and concern that their inquiries had drawn attention, we withdrew without incident and returned to the vessel. The mission was concluded with potentially actionable intelligence:
- Confirmation of the dreadnought’s existence and nickname,
- Kacam’s interest in it for neutronium extraction,
- Rumors implicating the Ralin,
- Potential lead in the form of the Itrin survivors’ trading station.
We returned to the USS Mariner intending to relay findings securely to senior command for follow-up operations.
RECOMMENDATION Further consultations with Starfleet Intelligence would be required.
RECOGNITION Doctor Greene performed well in regards to the information bargain with the Ferengi.
