NARRATIVE On above listed an away team lead by Captain Vel conducted a mission on a pirate starbase near the Niburon sector. Purpose of the mission was to recover a stolen artifact as advised by LCDR T’Evoryn. Due to the rarity and value of the artifact, Captain Vel authorized a mission to recover it, with LCDR T’Evoryn and Centurion tr’Vastam as lead officers in regards to making contact for the artifact.
Away team was split into two groups. LCDR T’Evoryn and Centurion tr’Vastam acted as Romulan agents interested in the artifact. CPT Vel lead the other group which acted as a distraction force in case an escape or any action was needed.
Contact was made with an Orion pirate with the name Dreyton, who as an artifact smuggler and trader. During this time second team distracted two Nausican pirates. During this time, LCDR Valusia and LT Drush in their disguise as Orion pirates provided an adequate distraction for the Nausicans while CPT Vel located the main station environmental controls and turned them off for the non-habitat sections.
The artifact that was presently in Dreyton’s control was deemed to be a fake by LCDR T’Evoryn which caused Dreyton to sound an alarm before the location of the artifact could be found. Immediately after the alarm sounding, artifact was deemed to be located in Dreyton’s personal shuttle in the main hangar bay. Dreyton was stunned and rendered unconscious at this time. Also during this time, both Nausican pirates were rendered combat ineffective and not able to disrupt the away team.
During the attempt to escape, the away team encountered several station guards. All but one guard was stunned while another was inadvertently killed. While the away team was attempting to reach the main hangar, a Scorpion Fighter was used to attempt to prevent the team from escaping. All means in the hangar were attempted to disable or destroy the fighter, but none were effective until a cargo crane was used to pin the fighter to the hangar wall. During this time. CMDR Salene requested fire support from the nearby USS Gato. Gato fired a lone torpedo which destroyed the Scorpion. At this time, away team was able to effect their escape.
RECOMMENDATION Recommend Starfleet be notified when any artifacts of worth be stolen. Recommend station near Niburon be captured and repurposed to prevent further pirate activity in the region
RECOGNITION All crew performed their jobs admirably on this mission. Special Recognition needs to be made for all crew due to the abstract nature of this mission.
