NARRATIVE Mission team assembled to investigate loss of signal from 5 Starfleet warning buoys positioned around periphery of Potter’s Field anomaly. Vessels RRW D’Ishae, USS Defender, and USS Endeavour proceeded to area proximate to last known locations of PFB.15 and 16. Scans revealed no sign of buoys nor debris. Vessels commenced probing anomaly and determined field boundary had advanced from last known coordinates. COs decided to proceed into anomaly under protection of static warp field effect.

D’Ishae tasked by mission leader Mirazuni to handle buoy recovery while other vessels conducted sensor sweeps. Davin, affirmatively advised by me, opted to field test theoretical resistence of Republic nullifier core tech to anomaly’s effects. Proceeded to collapse warp bubble, only to suffer immediate and hazardous power drain. Nullifier core effect determined to be marginal in practice. D’Ishae made haste out of the anomaly to recover and re-establish static warp field before returning.

Resuming recovery operations, D’Ishae under guidance by S’Tokkr quickly recovered PFB.15 and 16. After rendezvous with Endeavour, D’Ishae transferred PFB.15 to Starfleet vessel while keeping PFB.16 onboard.

Buoy log analysis conducted aboard D’Ishae en route to last known locations of PFB.7 and 8. Findings consistent with leading theory: anomaly expanded and engulfed lost buoys. Logs from additional buoys recovered complicated things though. Both PFB.7 and 8 logged power drain starting at same timestamp, 75.6861 hours (75h 41m 10s) before PFB.16. Improbable coincidence deserves further analysis.

RECOMMENDATION Current safety measures surrounding Potter’s Field anomaly too brittle. If field is expanding, warning buoy network needs resilience. Advise placing multiple layers of buoys around anomaly with realtime subspace communication throughout. LOS from any node should trigger immediate notification to Deep Space 13 rather than waiting up to 60 hours for scheduled check-in.

RECOGNITION RRW D’Ishae advanced frontiers of science and technology by demonstrating that Romulan ships need warp bubbles in there too.
