MISSION Orbital survey of Takiri II. Progressed into an investigation of an unexpected energy signal on the planet’s surface.
OUTCOME Discovered small Azedi settlement, perhaps Frith in origin, just about fully decimated by what is assumed to be Terran attackers/trackers.

NARRATIVE Away team arrived in torrential downpour, just on the edge of a ruined settlement. Team members were quickly able to assess the construction as Azedi in origin. Given the evidence of high-powered phaser burns and the approximate estimated date of the settlement’s destruction as being roughly five months ago (ascertained through flora re-growth), the aggressors were most likely Terran.
Due to the inclement weather and poor conditions, Crewman Tresha unfortunately lost her footing and suffered a large fall. CMO Castillo assessed her as needing immediate treatment, so both returned to the Reyga promptly while the rest of us continued our assessment.
LTJG Kholoi traced the energy source back to the center of the settlement and entered a hatch leading below ground, where she found a massive battery vault, accompanied by the ruins of an Azedi Brink Reactor. One battery bank continued to hold an almost insignificant amount of power, so this has been tentatively assessed as the source of the energy signal.
Remaining away team returned to ship without incident.
RECOMMENDATION Given that the planet was previously settled by Azedi, it may be a suitable candidate for future colonization efforts, especially if the Azedi continue to avoid making any claim to it. Longer term observation required for assessment of weather patterns.
