MISSIONRespond to report of warp signatures in this system. Attempt First Contact

OUTCOME First Contact established with the Krynn’Zari and Velmari peoples. Averted all out planetary war. Assisted in rescue and recovery as result of weapons release.

KEY PERSONNEL

  • Captain Ayesha Mirazuni (Aboard USS Hornet)
  • Captain Lunya Vel - USS Hornet
  • Commander Matthew Flynn - USS Roosevelt
  • Commander Riasull Dellir - USS Hornet
  • Lieutenant Commander Ansha Wind-People - USS Ecstasea
  • Lieutenant Commander R’Nol Sh’ow - USS Ecstasea
  • Lieutenant Commander Jeiliscia Valusia - USS Hornet
  • Lieutenant Commander T’Evoryn - USS Hornet
  • Lieutenant Lalaa Drush - USS Hornet

NARRATIVE On above listed stardate, a Federation taskforce consisting of USS Hornet, USS Ecstasea , and USS Roosevelt responded to the report of warp signatures in the Kryvelar system. Upon arrival in system, standard First Contact greeting was broadcasted by Captain Vel, to which the task force was approached by a starship who’s engine signature matched the warp signature that was detected in the system.

Initial contact was made with the Velmari people, who stated that they had been conducting warp trials of a new starship and were open to meeting the Federation away team to establish First Contact. During this exchange, there was an interruption by another race, the Krynn’Zari, who stated the Velmari had stolen the warp technology that was used by BOTH races to break the warp barrier. The Krynn’Zari requested to be present during first contact and also requested mediation to determine the rightful owners/users of their new warp technology. Blueprints of both people’s ships were transmitted to USS Hornet and it was immediately noticed that both ships were similar in design. At this time, an away team consisting of Captain Mirazuni (at Captain Vel’s request), Commander Flynn, Lieutenant Commanders Wind-People, T’Evoryn and Lieutenant Drush was assembled and transported down to the “Arbitration Forum” to begin first contact in person and listen to both sides dispute over the warp technology. An After Action Report will be completed by Captain Mirazuni to relay information in this meeting and all discussions and resulting diplomatic outcomes.

At this time, Captain Vel remained aboard USS Hornet to monitor the away team and provide emergency asistance if required. It was during the meetings that warnings were broadcasted to the USS Hornet by Kryvelar (Velmari) security forces, warning of two ballistic missile submarines surfacing to fire their weapons (fusion based nuclear warheads). Missiles were fired at the Arbitration Forum, Orbital Dockyard where the warp vessels were completed and at the USS Hornet. The away team, as well as both Velmari and Krynn’Zari diplomatic representatives were beamed aboard USS Hornet due to immediate safety concerns.

Commander Dellir ordered an emergency launch of Valkyrie fighters which successfully destroyed inbound missiles for the Arbitration Forum. USS Hornet defensive weaponry succeeded in eliminating threats to the ship. USS Roosevelt attempted to intercept the missiles heading for the orbital dockyard. One missile was successfully intercepted, but a second was able to deploy its multiple independently targeting re-entry vehicle (MIRV) warhead and the warheads deployed struck the dockyard. The dockyard was effectively destroyed at this time, however its shield technology allowed for large pieces to remain intact.

USS Hornet immediately switched to search and rescue, while deploying fighters to eliminate the submarines that fired the missiles (at the request of the Velmari and Krynn’Zari). USS Roosevelt also proceeded to assist in rescue operations and survivors were located in drifting segments of the dockyard. USS Hornet and her runabouts and shuttles also assisted in stabilizing the larger sections to prevent them from falling into the planet’s atmosphere.

At the same time, an away team, at the request of both peoples, was dispatched to the Kryvelar moon, in regards to an artifact that was deemed related to the progression of both species warp research and advancement. Inspection of the artifact will be detailed in AAR’s by Lieutenant Commander’s Sh’ow and Valusia.

Report concluded, pending additional addendum’s by officers present.

RECOMMENDATION Recommend establishing diplomatic and trade ties with the people’s on Kryvelar. Recommend sending construction crews and supplies to assist in rebuilding their ship construction capability.

RECOGNITION Recognition to Captain Mirazuni for her adept diplomatic skills in a dire situation. To Commander Flynn for his exceptional attempt to intercept the missiles inbound for the dockyard, despite his command being out of position to do so. To Commander Dellir for her deployment and command of fighter and shuttle assets to assist in the elimination of hostile naval forces and apprehension of rebel forces. To Lieutenant Commander’s Sh’ow, Valusia and T’Evoryn for their admirable performance of away mission duties and to Lieutenant Drush for the same.

OOC This was a loooong story line with numerous arcs and branches and I thank EVERYONE who took part. Looking forward to our next adventure!.

ADDENDUM Despite the best efforts of the Roosevelt and her crew, we did not anticipate the missiles’ MIRV capabilities. The lack of proper intelligence on these weapons and their attackers I believe contributed to our unpreparedness to accurately intercept them. Given the circumstances, I do not fault my crew nor myself for this error.

MISSION Explore the strange signal located by the Federation Task Group

OUTCOME Mission sucessful, further explaination below.

KEY PERSONNEL

  • Lieutenant Commander R’Nol Sh’ow - USS Ecstasea
  • Lieutenant Commander Jeiliscia Valusia - USS Hornet
  • Lieutenant Sanchez - USS Hornet

NARRATIVE During the shuttle ride to the lunar surface, I have little to report as myself and the other members of the away team were rather isolated from the other developments, only catching brief glimpses of the weapons fire, and the task groups scrambling to a ready position.

Once we approached the lunar surface, LCDR Valusia, attempted to get more details from the ships in orbit, whilst I ran a scan for life forms near the strange signal we had been sent to investigate, finding no life signs, and Materials and an energy signature matching that of a Velmari ship, the shuttle was landed, and after myself and Valusia had taken the standard precautions of arming ourselves, we proceeded slowly across the lunar surfacing using our EV suits, whilst Lieutenant Sanchez remained behind with the shuttle to ensure we could easily leave the suface if needed.

After a small, uneventful lunar walk, myself and LCDR Valusia, arrived at the site of the object and found it to be a large, nearly completely flat and a rounded triangle-shaped object, that seemed too big for one person to carry, and the energy readings pulsed from the object as we started our scans.

Our scans reported that the object had the same energy signature as the recently detected warp engines; however, after checking with the ships in orbit, it was revealed that the signal would destabilise any warp field. This prompted further investigation of the object, where LCDR Valusia discovered what appeared to be writing on the surface of the object, which she attempted to translate using the UT, which soon revealed the writing to be a warning, which was as follows ‘Beings of water and ground, never shall the stars be yours to conquer. The quest outward only leads to death’. Along with this writing, there was an ancient diagram below that showed a triangle, the triangle elongated, then the triangle exploding.

And following a call from Captain Vel asking for an update where LCDR Valusia, relayed what we found, which was then passed on to the Velmari representative on the Hornet, it was revealed that the object we had found appeared to be an ancient warp field inhibitor, after ensuring we had all the scans and images we could gather, all of which I have attached to this report, we departed back to the shuttle, as Captain Vel had been asked to destroy the ancient warp field inhibitor, and had dispatched a Valkyrie class fighter.

With us clear, the Valkyrie Class carried out its mission, destroying the warp field inhibitor, with all members of the away team escaping unharmed. After this, I was returned to the Ecstasea, where I went through an after-mission clean-up and check-up before returning to my normal duties and assisting with the ongoing support of search and rescue as best as possible.

RECOMMENDATION Whilst I agree with the choice to destroy the ancient warp field inhibitor from a diplomatic standpoint, from a scientific one, I feel we could have gained valuable insight into both inhibitor countermeasures for our ships. I feel further study should be placed on defence against Warp field inhibitors to ensure our ships are not caught out by such a device.

This in no way is me disagreeing with the choices of Captain Vel and the Starfleet ships in orbit, but I feel that due to the damage such a device could do, studying the scans we were able to get, and putting time into simulations that could also be used to help protect ships both Starfleet and Civilian should be done to help ensure that safe and free warp travel can be conduct.

RECOGNITION I would like to recognise the skill of the Hornet Shuttle pilot, Lieutenant Sanchez, first of all, who was able to provide a safe and smooth shuttle ride and landing to me and LCDR Valusia.

I would also like to thank LCDR Valusia for her help in both studying the object and in uncovering its purpose. I feel her presence on the mission was both insightful and invaluable. I feel that without her help, it would have taken far longer to both collect all the data we did, but also to uncover all the information and the true purpose of the object.

And whilst I was not fully aware of the job all Starfleet ships in the area did, both in protecting sites from the missile threat, but also in helping search and rescue following the impact to the ship yard, I would like to say that the reports I have been reading help show just what the Federation is about, exploring and protecting life no matter the risk. I believe all ship commanding officers and staff involved deserve recognition for their outstanding efforts.

ADDENDUM Diplomatic negotiations centred on the dispute between the Kryn’Zari and the Velmari, each claiming to have been the first to develop warp technology and accusing the other of theft. As both sides were hostile, it was important to establish ground rules before diplomacy could begin. Both delegations accepted the rules, which allowed for a smoother discussion.

Discussions revealed a common timeline; both sides had once collaborated on warp research before a catastrophic test destroyed their prototype vessel. Following this test, the two sides diverged, developing their technology independently. This shared timeline had begun to ease tensions between the two sides before the attack hit.

During the ensuing crisis, each side initially blamed the other, threatening to undo the fragile progress made. To prevent a breakdown, I reframed the situation around their mutual enemy, urging both to confront the extremist threat cooperatively. This was successful, and both sides began sharing vital information to aid in the recovery efforts.

With the crisis resolved, the diplomatic session resumed. Based on these talks, the delegations agreed to issue a joint public statement, to form a shared reconstruction initiative for the destroyed dockyards, and to coordinate their military responses collectively to prevent further internal conflict. They also committed to launching cultural exchanges and festivals to build trust among their populations and proposed a joint warp-vessel programme as a symbol of unity.

Both governments left with an agreed framework for peaceful coexistence and mutual progress. While domestic resistance remains likely, the foundation for partnership has been laid.
