NARRATIVE As per the briefing, Edelweiss Alps warped into the system first. Out of courtesy, this officer demanded the surrender of the Empire forces. When this was summarily rejected, the battle commenced.
As predicted, the battle started badly for our forces, as the Empire’s sensor platforms disrupted targeting and enhanced Empire forces. However, our forces held the line, providing cover for each other whilst Edelweiss Pyrenees and Apennines.
Our actions proved decisive as Pyrenees and Apennines reported a success, which allowed us to go on the offensive. Though damaged, the ships lined up for the final assault on the regrouping Empire forces around Beta Reticuli. The U.S.S. Endeavour however, having suffered devastating damage, was not able to join this final assault and was forced to fall out of formation. As a result, this officer had to command the attack from the rear; a more thorough report of the final assault will be given by another officer.
RECOMMENDATION Aid must be given to Beta Reticuli following the aftermath of the battle. A review of Operation Edelweiss to take place.
RECOGNITION All officers reported performed above and beyond; it was a pleasure to lead them into battle. More specifically, Captain Nimitz was seen to take the initiative in movements and in battle, working efficiently alongside this officer to ensure the success of the fleet - no doubt to be expected given the long history of this officer and Captain Nimitz serving alongside each other previously.
OOC This is part of the AAR for Operation Edelweiss Alps group (part of the Soiling the Nest event).
